I've got my beater marauder up and running and now am looking for some miscellaneous parts...
I need a pair of key fobs, car only came with one ignition key.
Another real key, and a valet key.
Do I have to go to the dealership to get these?

All of those can be found on ebay much cheaper than through a dealer.

Except the valet key. I've never seen one on ebay.

Does the valet key also have the pats chip in it and need to be programmed like the other keys?

Thanks for the links!
I was able to find the Marauder keyless remotes by digging a few pages through that last one's online store.
Now I wait for goodies in the mail.

Yes, The valet key has a chip that needs to be programmed. It will not open the glove box, door trunk switch, and the trunk lock.

That's what I figured, but always good to check. Because I only have one key that works the car, do I have to take it to the dealership to have the new keys programmed, or is there a super-secret handshake method to do it myself?

I wish it was as easy. In '96-'97, you could program another key with just one key. It has been with 2 since 1998. BTW, I have to do this process myself one day.

I have heard that there is a way to program a key without going to the dealer, some locksmiths supposedly can do it. I haven't verified that info, just repeating a rumor...
The only way we know of is to have two keys. If you only have one its off to the dealer.

Glad to help John.
All above are correct.... to program a new key yourself, you need 2 keys that are currently good. To add keys with only one good key, you need to see a dealer. The valet key has the same programming as all other keys, what makes them different it that one notch is cut different in the key which won't allow all the pins in the lock tumblers for the trunk and glove box to line up.... so actually you can use a black "master key" and tell the dealer to cut it as a valet key as well.

Most modern locksmiths have a "scanner" that can program keys. Not sure how it works as I have not seen one.

Update:
I received the keyless remotes in the mail today. Fast turnaround too. Unfortunately, I could not get either of them to program to the car. I followed the instruction they provided:
1. Turn ignition from OFF to RUN 4 times within 3 seconds, with the 4th time
ending in RUN. Door locks will cycle to confirm programming mode.
2. Within 20 seconds, press any button on first keyless remote. Door locks will
cycle to confirm programming.
3. Within 20 seconds press any button on second keyless remote. Door locks
will cylcle to confirm programming.
4. Turn ignition to OFF.
Neither remote would respond to these instructions. Are there different specific instruction for the 03 Marauder?

Not true at all. The valet key is cut and programmed exactly the same as the regular key. It is thicker and will only fit in the ignition switch and door lock.

I was easily within the 7.5 seconds, so they are both bad.
I emailed them and they say I can get a full refund to send them back. Looks like I will order them from the local dealer, unless someone on here can get them for me for less than retail.
I had a feeling that this ebay experience was going to go wrong.

Are you sure they are the right ones? Verify the FCC ID number. It should be cwtwb1u343, part number 3w73-15k601-aa. There are several different ones that look the same, but won't work.

On the back of the remote.

Both of these remotes have the FCC ID: CWTWB1U331
Clearly not the correct ones.

See if the ebay seller can swap them for the correct ones.

I just sent him the info above and asked him to send me the correct remotes and a postage paid return envelope to send these back. Now we see how good he stands behind his products.
