I've had several inquiries asking what the weather is like in Charlotte in early September.

Low High Precipitation Record Low Record High
Sep 8 64° 83° 0.12 in 54° (1988) 99° (1925)
Sep 9 64° 83° 0.12 in 46° (1998) 101° (1939)
Sep 10 64° 83° 0.12 in 47° (1998) 98° (1939)
Sep 11 63° 83° 0.12 in 49° (1956) 96° (1925)
Sep 12 63° 82° 0.12 in 45° (1917) 95° (1925)
Sep 13 63° 82° 0.12 in 49° (1917) 94° (1962)

In a word, the average weather conditions for Charlotte this time of the year: GREAT!

I'll keep posting updates with the forecast as we get closer to the event.

Both the hurricane and tropical depression models have it skirting the NC coast.

If it remains downgraded to a tropical storm, there is a possibility of rain in the Charlotte area, but depending on the speed of the storm, it will probably be past the area by the time MV starts up.

Here's hoping for a fast-moving storm...;)

Other than one trip from San Antonio back to Dallas in 2005 my car has never been rained on. Not a drop when I went to Orlando or St Louis for those two Maraudervilles. I guess if it gets wet this time I dont mind so much.

My parents are taking a cruise to the Carribean the same week as MV. They are hoping more then me that this storm passes by quick. They are calling for rain here Friday as the after effects of Earl, the tropical storm should be in the NY area by the time I start my drive. There is another storm thats following behind the tropical storm so who knows what the weather will be by the weekend.

Latest predictions on Fiona have the storm tracking a similar path to Earl's, which will make it a non-event for MV. I'lll keep everyone posted as we get closer to the dates.

Daily update:

1. Hurricane Earl may hit the Outer Banks of NC, but will be long gone before MV8.

2. Spaghetti models for Fiona indicate that will be a non-event.

Fiona's not projected to be an issue:

Next storm up is Gaston, but the models project it heading into the Gulf:
