View Full Version : Marauderville Registration Clarification

A point of clarification for the folks registering for MV8 through eventbrite:

There are several Thursday and Friday events that don't have dollar amounts assigned to them on the "ticket information" registration webpage. In an effort to keep registration fees as low as possible this year, we have some activities set up as "pay-as-you-go" events.

These are some things that you may or may not wish to do, and as such, we didn't want to include them in the registration fee and inflate the costs.

If you do wish to participate, please make sure you enter the number attending in the "Qty" field on the registration webpage; we need to get an accurate headcount of participants so that the venues can accommodate our group.

Below are the "pay-as-you-go" events, a listing of what's included in the fee, and the cost for each event:

Thursday Morning Cruise to Old Stone Winery - Salisbury, NC: Winery tour and tasting. Cost is $10 per person, payable by cash, check or money order at the MV8 Registration table in Charlotte. The event will include a tour of the winery vineyards, a tour of the winery, and a private tasting of 8 wines (a mix of Old Stone's dry & sweet, red & white wines), plus a souvenir wine glass.

Thursday lunch at Lexington, BBQ, Lexington, NC: After the winery tour, we'll stop for lunch at the renowned Lexington BBQ. Lunch costs range from $4.00 to $16.00 per person, and are payable directly to the restaurant.

Thursday Afternoon cruise to Richard Childress Racing Museum and Shops - Welcome, NC: Tour of the Richard Childress Racing Museum and shops. Cost is $10 per adult, and $8 for seniors, payable by cash, check or money order at the MV8 Registration table in Charlotte. The self-guided tour includes over 45 race vehicles, a large display of Dale Earnhardt #3 cars, and numerous video displays. We will also be provided with an overview of the RCR shops.

Friday Night Drag Racing at Jefferson Pageland Dragway: Friday night grudge racing with special accommodations for our Marauders. Costs are $15.00 for racers and $7.00 for spectators, or $20.00 per carload, up to 5 people. Tickets are purchased at the gate.

If you have any questions relating to the above, PM me.

So? I've had a plug in the passenger side rear tire for at least a year, and I plugged the drivers side front about 3 weeks ago, right before my road trip. Trust me when I say they stay in at repeated triple digit runs, which is more than you'll hit in the quarter mile. No offense. :)

I heard SB's couldn't spin their rear tires enough to dislodge even a pebble, let alone plugs.......

You'll be surprised to see how quick cars will launch and come up to speed in an 1/8 mile.

I was very surprised and impressed with the cars I saw running the last time I was there.

It's always been an 1/8 mile.

Tried to get the 4 lane 1/4 track across from Lowe's early on.
