Hit and Run victim....
Around 6:10 PM EST my Marauder was on Northwestern HWY SB, Southfield, MI, between HWY 10SB/DET(100m) and us24Nb/ Telegraph Road when my MM was running 60MPH(in a 70MPH Zone) in the right outside lane of a four lane divided highway and a black Chevy Malibu at a high rate of speed cut me off from the emergency/ parking lane which was previously the exit lane, hitting the passenger side fender, scuffed the OEM wheels(that were prestine), damaged the header panel and the cornering lamp. The car slown down, appeared to steer in the trouble lane then with great swift took off.

Possibly the driver wanted to exit to the right before the point of collision when he realized that he is heading the wrong direction so he corrected himself at a high speed to cut infront of me through the trouble lane on my right hand side.

That sucks! No way I would have let them get away. If you already got sideswiped, may as well push it through. Unless kids were in the car with you or something. Hope it's fixable.

You did the smart thing by not chasing him - if you got a description I bet he can be found - for sure if you got the plates.

No need for unsafe driving by two people - one is already too many. Good job keeping your cool.

Unfortunately, no. When he clipped my front passenger fender he went 180* luckily for him no highspeed car hit him. He appeared to have gone to the trouble lane then slowly meandered back to the drive lane and sped off.

Going to a Lincoln/Mercury dealer for an estimate.

Can anyone reccomend a good body shop near Southgate,MI???

Looks like the following will have to be replaced:
Passenger side fender
Header Panel
Passenger side Headlight
1 OEM wheel
Marker light and wiring
Passenger side door*
*= needs to be readjusted

Another reason why I'm glad I dont live in the Detroit Area anymore. When I lived there I worked in Downtown doing route sales in the Metro area and was hit numerous times where the other person drove away. Sometimes I was shocked their car was able to even move after seeing the damage that was done. I drove a UPS style truck so never did to much to my vehicle. Also a reason why I carry there too. Cause if they werent able to leave and they didnt have any insurance they sure arent gonna agree with me calling the police.

UPDATE: My Marauder will be getting repaired in the next couple of weeks.

Do you guys think it is worthwhile getting a full repaint?

a fll paint job is always a plus, make sure they use something other than the oem paint. i would paint it cadillac black. you wont regret it

But Corvette black is faster...unless of course you get Ferrari black. Then the only black paint that would make your faster would be the stuff the use on the heat tiles of the space shuttles.
