Bird Dookie

i religuosly clean my MM, wash, wax, detail spay, ect. ive come across a few bird dookies every once in a while from parking it at work or grocery stores. but just this week i had some acid bird poo. i used warm soap and water like i always do and lightly rubbed the "dropping" off. i noticed a fade mark in the paint right where the "dropping" was. What aree birds eating these days? anyone else seen this?

I live in MA as well, and yes, I have gotten a couple of those dookies. I also got eggs dropped from a nest on my roof on a hot day and cooked permanently onto my roof! I couldn't believe it!

cleaner wax usually gets it out

i tried regular canuba wax with no luck. i have some turtle wax rubbing compound i could try? it seems really in there thow like almost under the clear coat.

I use the turtle wax rubbing compound quite often. That should do the trick.

Make sure the surface you are working on is cool, helps relax the molecules and easier to bring it out.

Birds and tree sap love my Taurus which is black. Once my uncle gets his stuff out of my garage I'll have some professional paint correction done on it and store it in the garage along with the MM.

Speaking of this, I used to carry the Armor all exterior wipes just for these. But I think they stopped making thos wipes.

I used to wash the car regularly but then my sister wouldn't let me wash my car at her house anymore due to the HOA. So living at an apartment complex, I used the car wash places but no longer got around to getting the car washed as frequently. So anyway, had it washed last time about 3 or 4 months ago so it was covered in that think layer of dirt even in my covered parking spot so I decided to get it washed again like last week. Anyway, after the car wash, the hood don't look so good. Is this the dreaded bad 2003 paint that I've heard everyone talk about? If you look closely, there are like fadded spots or dots all over the hood. Ugh. And some tree sap didn't come off. Was thinking about trying the clay bar?

Clay bar will only smooth out the surface, it won't remove paint imperfections. You'll have to use a light clearcoat compound and if that don't work, then its a wet sand and buff.

Believe it or not but regular Rain-X works great on sap. if you rub hard it will damage your paint, but soft circular motion with just a little Rain-x should take the sap off

I always carry a spray bottle of window cleaner, soak it down real good, then remove it with a few more well placed sprays, and wipe with a soft micro fiber.

Mothers makes a wipe off product to handle that bird do-do. I have used it but like Ardex products more.

I have one spot of bird **** on my rear bumper that no amount of clay, compound or cleaner/wax will remove. GDI!!!!!!
