I really enjoy the new beater marauder, but it has had a rough idle and popped lean codes on both banks since it was reinstalled in the car. I stopped and picked up a can of Mass Air Flow sensor cleaner and went to work. Taking the cone K&N filter off made it easy to spray the MAF, so I sprayed it thoroughly. Yes, that cured the abrupt drop in RPM immediately after it starts. It also idled better, but still has a slight stumble and is not perfect. So, I grabbed the can of Starting Fluid and began spraying around the intake looking for a leak. Yep, fount it. The front left corner of the intake has a hair line crack that I did not notice, but the engine sure did when I hit it with ether! VAROOM! Chug-chug, purrrr.
It's a good thing I knew where there was another in town. And thanks to Duhtroll, I'll have a new lower intake tomorrow night.
I think searching for, and finding the problem, is half the fun!
