I noticed both my fron tires are wearing alot on the outside and even worse on the inside, it's just about down to the cords :shake: I do quite a bit of hard cornering, tire squealing cornering, but should the front BFG's be wearing like that, the rest of the tread is just about flush with the wear bar maybe a little more tread then the wear bar and my front susp and balljoints are good. also the steering wheel is strait and the car dont pull at all. is this just normal?

USE THE SEARCH FUNCTION, NOOB !! Just kidding, always wanted to yell that at someone.:D
But seriously, use the search function, just use the keywords carfixer alignment specs and shamwow! all kinds of info will pop up. Print them, take them to your mechanic, and say "Do this."

The factory set the MM up for aggressive cornering characteristics. Most people don't drive that way so the alignment needs to be softened so the insides don't wear out as fast. Search Carfixer specs or maybe someone will post them for you as I don't have them at my immediate disposal. If your getting wear on the outside and inside I'd ask if your tires are inflated properly.

Bam! Found it for ya:

The inside edge wear of the front tires is caused by 2 things: negative camber and negative toe (toe out). Caster is not a tire wearing angle. The outside edge wear can be caused by excessive toe in and aggressive cornering.

Factory camber spec is -.5 degrees +or- .75 degrees
Factory toe spec is -.15 degrees +or- .20 degrees
(BTW, this info came from their website which is updated periodically and may differ from previously published material, such as cd's and paper manuals)

That means your alignment could have -1.25 degrees of camber and toe out of -.35 degrees and still be in the "green". This will wipe out the inside edges in <20K miles IMO.

All of the MM's I've aligned (about 10) had at least -1.0 degrees of camber and always toe out of -.10 degrees or more from the factory. That's why almost all MM's you see have excessive inside edge tire wear.

For best tire wear, here is what I use on all MM alignments:
Camber: 0 to -.3 degrees.*
Toe: Zero degrees.
Caster: 5-6.5 degrees positive with .3 degree lead on the right side.

*Camber can affect cornering feel. The more negative camber you have, the better it will handle corners. Most drivers will never feel the difference, especially on the street.

I dont know about that I quite often put the car sideways around corners, I find the car understeers and tends to plow into corners at around 70mph. could be the 295's in the back tho, hard to break those loose. winter tires on the other hand

Oh no, you're a crazy ass, don't get me wrong :D Just print those specs and tell them that's what you need to keep that damage from happening again.

First off, I have 140 K on my Marauder and BF Goodrich tires were nothing but headaches for me. I should know. I went through the originals and bought the KD2s which were suppose to be better. Both stunk. I switched to Good Year Eagle F1s and had my mechanic do the wheel alignment recommended on our web site which is not the factory alignment. My front Good Year Eagle tires have 60 K on them and are wearing as true as can be. I would never buy BF Goodrich again. One time the cords got so messed up the car vibrated so bad my rear view mirror was vibrating and I could'nt even see out of it. Switch to Good Year and use the Carfixers Guide on our web site for alignment and I think the problem will go away. It did for me. Be warned though the tires I use now are not all season so you have to park it in bad winter weather.

You went so many miles on BFG's that the cord's were showing through and you're surpised the car vibrates?:burnout:

My front BFG's lasted so long and wore so perfectly that in the end they started to dry rot. I went for new ones and got them prorated for the dry rot and paid less than half retail for them. I'd say they are great tires and a perfect OEM replacement.

And ALL tires eventually dry rot, so that is not an argument.

well all fixed. bought 4 used OEM ones, 2 were made in the first week of 2010 and had 99% left, even the little nubbies were on the tread, the other two had about 75% bought them for all 4 for 340, installed and balanced myself. now all I have o do is the carfixers Mod.

I had this adjustment made today by a tire shop close by and can confirm that the car corners "almost" as well as before. It does not turn as sharply (you have to turn the wheel a bit more to get the same result as before) but if it saves the insides of my tires I'll be happy with it! They are very bald on the insides and I was worried that I would start seeing cords next.

For about $100 (the price of a wheel alignment), the shop was able to match the alignment almost exactly to Carfixer's spec, however apparently it was as far as some of the settings on my car would go. Perhaps there is a difference in the Canadian 300A.

What year is it that people are still asking about the tire edges? If you take the flags off there is a ton of adjustment, if you leave the flags on, there is not much. With the flags off I can go from positive camber to past -1.5 in the other direction. Huge range of adjustability.

Same here, that's what my man said, and that was years ago. They keep the numbers I gave them in my cars file, so when I go in with new fronts, they know to do the alignment check as per what I gave them, not what the factory says.
