It may ormay not be related, but ever since I installed my K&N CAI, I have noticed an odd stuttering while driving. It seems to most often occur at lower speeds, and it seems to me to be only in 4th (although maybe 3rd as well ) gear...Since I don't have a custom tune, what should the RPM's be at right after shifting to 4th? they often seem really low (1400 or so)...if I speed up (hence raising the RPM's), the stuttering/hesitation goes away. I seem to remember that prior to installing the CAI, that while cruising at 80, the RPMs were right around 2500...now they seem to be several hundred lower at the same speed...any thoughts out there?

I'd check the coils, just seems that the condition you describe is normally bad coil(s).

hmmm...sounds expensive...
I know this sounds ignorant, but how does one approach that? also, if they are bad, how much is it to replace them. I am a "handy man," so hopefully if they do need to be replaced I can do it...

First, swap back to the original inlet system and see if the problem goes away.

If it goes away, re-install the CAI and be sure its hooked up correctly with no leaks.

My daughter did mine, at Summit Racing, the Accel's are about $27 each.

I thought about swapping back...I guess I will have to get over my "laziness" and just do it...I don't hear any leaks in the K&N...
thanks for all the help/input!

Sounds like the coils to me. Take your car to the dealer and have them do a coil test

My other MM started to do this once it hit 70k. Whats funny... is my 04' now. Its very minorly starting at low RPM's to not be as smooth.
