My cobra intake manifold came in today for my incomplete Trilogy setup. (A.K.A. Eaton swap lite, A.K.A. Trilogy kit #39) I tried to test fit the manifold to the Trilogy adapter plate that will bolt the supercharger to the top. It doesn't fit!

As you can see, it doesn't sit flush with the manifold at all. The cause is this protrusion in the manifold.

Did I buy the wrong manifold? This is the link I purchased it from "03-04 Cobra Lower Supercharger Intake Manifold." (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330466852093&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK:MEWNX:IT#ht_50 0wt_1182) Does the trilogy kit not use the Cobra part? The Trilogy manual gives the Ford part number 2R3Z-9424-BB. Did I screw up? Should I just start grinding? Does Trilogy modify this piece before shipping it out?

That's the right manifold, I can give you a better answer when I get on a comuter to really see the pics

Could the discharge plate be upside down?

LOL you are doing it wrong.

...well maybe you aren't cuz it looks like the correct orientation.

The hole thats threaded in the discharge plate goes on the rear, drivers side of the manifold.

I don't reacall those 2 humps in the lower manifold. Must be some early or late build manifold? Or maybe trilogy modified them. Anyway grind them things off!:) In the pictures in the trilogy manual you can see where they machined them off.

Is it upside down? Lol. When I placed it in that orentation the holes lined up good so I didn't try flipping it. I was so anxous over buying used parts to fit my Trilogy that my first assumption was that I bought the wrong part. I'm at work right now. I'll try the obvous and flip it when I get home. Does the concave side of the plate go face up or face down. Now that I'm thinking about it, I'm prity sure the concave side accepts the intercooler, doesn't it. Oops. Lol

No the concave side is up. It looks as if you have it oriented correct. Just grind or have the bumps machined flat to the rest of the manifold.

And while its all apart you may want to drill and tap the lower manifold for the IAT sensor. Zack has a good write up on this.

Ok, I definitely had the plate in the correct orientation and I saw the pic in the Trilogy manual where you can clearly see that the two humps were ground off. I guess Trilogy modified them. I'm just glad to know I didn't order the wrong part. Thanks everyone.
