So after having the supercharged for a little while, I wasn't happy with the off the line performance. I decided it was time to install the Torque Converter(BC automotive level 2 3500 rpm stall) I've had for over a year just never installed. While the Trans was out decided to tear it down and refresh things. Let me say the TQ was a :censor: to seat in the pump all the way. Had to stand the trans on end and lightly tap with a dead blow hammer while spinning it. Reinstalled the trans topped off the fluid and Wow is she a monster. Before I could barely chip the tires of the line now traction is a problem threw 1st :D, time for some drag radials for the track. A few things I've noticed the car feels a bit sluggish on acceleration anything below 1/4 throttle. My shifts are softer than before and trans is running @20 degrees hotter So I will need to install a auxiliary trans cooler. vid soon

Softer shifts and higher temps are normal since the new converter is smaller than OEM and spools up faster which creates more heat.

I've been contiplating a 3000 myself. My car leaves more rubber at 39 MPH than off the line! Seems off the line performance SUCKS. Good luck!

Interesting seems the Eaton graces you guys with so much low end torque I wouldn't think you would need a converter to get off the line. What about that turbo your playing with what stall converter will that like?

Sup guys? aye, Does the 06-10 grand marquis have the same transmission as the MM and mustang and all them? Im wanting to build a late model Grand Marquis, and the first thing i wana do is get gears, locker, and a stall 3500 TQ

Dave whose converter are you running stallion BC or PI ? For a every day street car how much of a diffferance is there between a 3000 & 3500 stall converter off line wheel spin quarter mile time & generated heat ?

Im running a PI rebuilt by circle d. If You are going to put that eaton on don't go over 3k as I said I hate it. Most annoying thing in traffic and normal driving. Specially with an exhaust that resonates like a mother ****er under part throttle

Unless you are going to be running 300 + rwhp stick with a 2500-2800 stall speed converter. Lower the stall speed the sooner the converter will kick in.

I'll second that (or third).

I've got a 2800 that I got from Fordnut, and love it. Better off the line performance, not too much tire spin, and will idle up an incline!
