To the combined efforts of MM.net and Carolina Marauders ... thank you!

As this was my first Marauderville, what an incredible experience y'all lined up for us:
- visits to local race shops and museums,
- a winery tour,
- authentic Carolina B-B-Q,
- NASCAR Hall of Fame,
- over 100 mph laps on Charlotte Motor Speedway followed by bracket AND heads-up racing - winner determined in the HUNDREDTHS of seconds determined by driver reaction to the tree,
- awards in so categories everybody is going home with something in each hand, plus fully charged 10lb fire extinguishers,
- and the opportunity to learn how to properly clean my car without water!

It was awesome having the opportunity to put faces to screen names, swap cigars, share grub and drinks while writing new stories in getting to know each other a little better.

Here are just a few pics I (and "gdmjoe" who was my ride along at the track) shot:

Well said Mark!!

Tom, Jim, Rex, Russ and crew along with MM.net should be commended for this event. Good to meet alot of folks that I otherwise would not have had the opportunity to meet. The one day I was there was full of good times, and hard to duplicate experiences:banana2:. Thanks also to Mark (Go2GuyFL) and Chris & Kim (CWright) for their hospitality. The one day I was there made me kick myself for coming so late, and leaving early, but there is always next year.

Maybe by then we can get a power adder for the security cart and the beer box burnout:D:burnout:

Thanks again!!! Oh yea............. Get home safe y'all.

Just got in from the MV8 trip. What a blast. My wife and I had a great time. Even got to have a surprise 60th birthday with my Marauder friends and then go out and turn some high speed laps on the Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Rex, Tom, Jim, Russ, Russell and the entire Carolina Marauder Crew did a fanstastic job of arranging the activities and making sure that fun was had by all. It was a really terrific trip.

I took 147 pics during the trip..... here's a few teasers. :D

I took "seconds". Had a great ride with Mr. Man aka High, Wide and Handsome who took me way up on the high line in those corners. WOW!! Took the second run with my good friend Hammerdown Connie aka Mrs. Fordfrk for another thrill ride! Would have done it again.....

Here's Leonard Wood of Wood Brothers Racing fame telling me Im not quite going to fit in next years race car! The highlights of my trip were the laps at CMS and the time spent at the Wood Bros shop. Kim (Wood) Hall met with us for a good half an hour then we saw the shop and after that Leonard Wood himself comes out and said "Is this the Mercury group?" He was really nice and let us take some pics. Never met a NASCAR legend before and Im sure he will be in the NASCAR HoF either this year or next year.

He was very nice and a true gentleman. God bless him for still working full time at his age. It was one of the high lights of the trip for sure. Now if Bill Elliot had been there... Thank you so much for arranging that.
