Just got home with a blown transmission. It started whining as we entered NJ and the trek through Staten Island finished it off. It got me home but its whining really bad and not going into gears. I guess I went out with a bang for MV8!!

Had a great time, always a pleasure hanging out with you guys. See you on the next one.

OMG! How much racing etc did you do there? did you get a timeslip?
Geesh! you've had some bad luck lately. Don't forget to change out the factory cooler, as it probably has crud in it and will perhaps ruin your new trans in short order.

Kelly and I made it in about 6:45. We had to go thru the same area that I got stopped twice in on wednesday and ironically rode past the same unmarked Charger, this time I set the cruise control and rode for about 80 miles at 2 mph under the speed limit. We had a blast! Looking forward to MVIX

I didn't drag race which is a good thing. Or else I would still be out there. Its been one of those years. I think the vibration was in the converter and that's what did the trans pump in. The fluid was high when I checked it after hearing the noise. I limped it back home but it didn't sound good. I'm out of spare cash at the moment so the car shall be sitting for a while.

12 hours and 10 mins and i'm home. Whew, it was a rough thru Illinois, the last fifty miles was killer. Got down to i was the only one doing the speed limit, or least trying to.

It was all worth it, had a great time and it was awesome seeing everyone again, and meeting others.

Thanks to the Carolina Marauders for hosting, and all others who helped to make this a totallly fantasmagorical event.

Paul, sorry to hear about your tranny, but glad another panther got it's owner and loved one home, safe and sound.

Good luck with the repairs.

See everyone in KY.

If you could not tell I enjoy working on autos and helping others. Glad you are home safe. Had a great time with all and looking forward to the next marauderville.

Of course we loved seeing Rex and Terry again. Nice to put faces to some names we've enjoyed interacting with on line but didn't really know; FastBlackMerc, Dakslim, MarauderMan and so many more. I arrived home at 10:19 last night, not bad, about 12 1/2 hrs. Numerous stops to walk so my back would calm down. Gel seat cushion really helped out, as did 12 hrs of sleep. :D The Carolina guys did a great job! Fantastic seeing everyone again, but I don't know if I'm meant to travel solo :( It just didn't feel right.

Looking at this thread I realize there were a ton of people I did not get to meet..... My apologies, as I wanted to meet and speak with alot of you who have posted here. Not enough hours in a day or cans of beer in the parking lot (take yer pick:o)

Oh well, maybe next time. Hopefully we at least shared a quick joke/comment about the festivities @ LMS or the drags:beer:

Pulled into the driveway shortly after 10:30 PM tonight. Left Charlotte around 2:30 PM. Averaged 22 MPG and kept cruise control set to 73 MPH for most of the way with a dinner stop at Hooters of East Columbia.

BTW, the Chrysler 300 that whizzed by me at about 90 MPH got pulled over about an hour later by a South Carolina State Trooper driving a Crown Vic. Ford beats Chevy (GM)!!!
