Do any of you guys have records on 1/4 mile times on stock MMs or MMs with minor mods?

I went to the drag strip for the first time ever (as a driver) last night. My best time was 15.059 sec (94.75 MPH) with a Reaction time of 0.440. I wasn't sure what to expect. I thought I could get below 15 but not such luck. The only mod to my MM is a K&N filter (if you call that a mod).

It was fun and I am thinking of keeping records of how 1/4 mile times improve as I venture into different mods. :D

Here are the top three times as posted (claimed) on this thread. I'd be happy to update this if we get better times claimed.

Welcome to the world of racing, it's addicting!

Not bad for first runs in a stock Marauder. My best was a 14.97 in my Marquis but that had some mods on it, in stock trim it was low 16's.

That's good for stock! Congrats!

Yes, I would say you are on the fast side of the stock envelope.

Thanks guys! It definitely is adicting. I didn't realize how much my tires were spinning when I tried to pre-load. It took me a few runs and comparing the times to realize what was going on. I'd imagine better tires would make a difference.

I'll wait until my next upgrade before I hit the track again.

I enter all the time slip data in xcel including temp/hum. It is a great data base esp for bracket racing.

Your time is about average for a stock MM.

Realize that not all MM were created equal from the factory.

To start I'd recommend a tune, 4.10's, CAI (I prefer JLT) and underdrive pulleys. That should get you in the mid 14's. With those mods my MM would run 14.3 - 14.5 all day long. Shamed alot of ricers that line up next to me.

15.0x is a good stock time. I think I ran pretty close to that bone stock at SSHS3. You can probably gain a little more than a second with all the bolt ons. Good part about a bolt on only car is consistancy. I ran all the way to the finals at SSHS7 and didn't have to change the dial in the whole day, I believe it was 7 rounds.(wrote a 14.02 on my window and ran it all day). Keep practicing the launch and the tree, that's where you win the races.

14.5! That's outstanding. Didn't know a stock mm would be capable of that. Good info.

That's great. I didn't even know there was a database for timeslips. I'll add my info there.

Thanks!

14.38 with a stock mm? Whoa... It keeps getting better. Maybe I can get below 15 after all. I'll target a cold day.

I ran a 15.1 the other week, didn't write down conditions tho.
What have you run before?

Nothing. That was my first experience ever at the drag strip. I guess the conditions must have been good. I assume it was about 65 degrees.

You got 14's on a cold day no problem.

Nice. that's about my story. The next 1/2 second quicker is a bit more expensive. ;)

Warning: it's addictive. Just ask Moe or Sherman!

15.15 @85 MPH first time out bone stock
14.9299 @95 MPH with lidio tune and K&N CAI in 80degree weather
14.79 and 14.84 2 yrs ago, lowered 1" and a bit more experience

Had a rear axle seal go bad at 135,000 miles so I put in a fresh posi, axles, rotors and a 4:10
Why did I wait, still better than 20MPG, avg over 80mph

Great info guys. I know there are lots of variables when comparing things this way but this gives me a feel for how much a given mod helps with the 1/4 mile times. I find this kind of info more important on gear change mods since you can't really do a HP comparisson on that. Good luck on your search for speed!:burnout:

Installing 4.10's won't get you HP, it will launch the big boat quicker.

Exactly my point. There are no HP gains to measure when you change gears. Therefore, 1/4 mile time comparisons give you some info on the improvement. I should have explained it better. Glad you elaborated on this.

The 14.79 and 14.84 runs were prior to the 4:10 gear change.

Here is an update... My previous post on 1/4 mile stock MM time was without a tune. Yesterday I did a few runs with a tune. My best time was 14.530 with a RT of 0.207. This is a 1/2 a second improvement from the tune :D.

Temperature was about 55 degrees. Humidity was a bit high at 77%. My times kept on getting worst probably due to increasing humidity. It started to rain by 9:15PM.
