The kit that dennis reinhart sells is better than both of them.

In my opinion, there's no performance advantage to be gained, mainly just a matter of looks.
I've got a PHP on mine, and have been well satisfied with it. Available through Reinhart.

I had both, wish I'd kept the JLT, but I was smitten by the one piece design of the K&N.

I have the PHP and its a nice piece, but its very costly at $400. The JLT is the best bang for the buck as far as a intake.

Yep and that's why I will keep using my JLT.

Just stick with what you already have.....only real difference is looks and cost....
With that being said...I am glad I got the JLT.....but then again I dont have anything to compare it to.....although Jay Tucker is top notch with his customer service

+1 on JLT's customer service. On his very early kits there was a quality issue with the type of PVC plastic used to make the 4" tube that allowed it to deform in the heat of the engine bay and the pressure of the hose clamps. If you happen to have one of the old original models, he will send you a new high quality ABS plastic tube free of charge for just a photo of the damage. The previous owner of my car installed the JLT kit. I didn't have any previous contact with Tucker as a customer or a receipt of any kind and he still sent me the replacement tube for free after I sent him a photo of the old piece.

I believe I have an early JLT kit with the PVC pipe, though I haven't seen it deform from any heat. It was a used kit, didn't even come with a heat shield.

This is what mine looked like. It should be round, not egg shaped. It started to collapse and take the shape of the rubber elbow snorkel it was in. The pressure from the hose clamp probably had a lot to do with it.

No problems with the new one three years later. Truthfully, it wasn't that big of a deal, but I hated that it was fire engine red. :puke: It was a good excuse to get it in black like I wanted it to be. I was actually a little excited when I noticed I had the issue. The red S55 logo is much more subtle than that bright red thing in your face as soon as you open the hood.

I went with the JLT. Since they all do the same thing, it came down to cost.

When I asked the same question a while back, most responded that that all CAIs were pretty much the same, but many said they were happy with K&N so I installed that. I have no complaints!

I have the JLT, cost was the only deciding factor.
Don't forget the JLT will rub the hood liner

K & N is the only one that is C.A.R.B. legal here in California and the other 49 states.

Don't understand what your trying to say, but you don't want to mess around with the PCV system. You'll only create problems down the road.

Ha! If you close that off you just deleted the input for the pcv system... If you want to run without crankcase ventilation then GO FOR IT!

Oh yeah i also removed that plastic (walrus looking thing from side of zip tube ) that also makes for more air rushing in sound. Ftw.
