I know that this seems like an odd question coming from someone who owns a KB car themselves, but I can't find my notes and I'm hoping someone knows the answer before I yank the fuel pump out of the car to find out.
One upgrade the KB cars have is the removal of the 'standard' Ford fuel pump, and replacement with a Walbro unit. Does anyone know what model Walbro unit this is/was?
I'm thinking that I need to upgrade either my fuel pump, injectors, or both. I currently have 42# injectors, so the next upgrade is 65# (either as part of a fuel rail system, or separately). That means upgrading the fuel pump as well. However, I wanted to try upgrading the fuel pump all by itself first, and see if that stops the bucking issue that feels like air bubbles are hitting the injectors. In case you're wondering, I already upgraded the fuel filter to a larger straight-through Kinsler unit.
So I am looking for a 'plug-n-play' replacement - same bolt holes, etc. Just more throughput. I'll also take recommendations for a PnP pump from another manufacturer.
Any help would be appreciated.
