Last week while under the hood I noticed some carbon buildup where the throttle body meets the upper intake. A little unusual I thought but I ordered a new gasket and installed it last night, no problemo. Here's the interesting part to the story, the old gasket was (I think) installed backwards from the factory as this is the first time the throttle body has ever been removed. I'm guessing that explains the leak, eh? I was curious though and just spent the last hour or so reading old threads. As far as I can tell noone else has run into this before. Am I wrong?
Not a problem per se but it piqued my interest.:cool4:

I think I red everyone just uses RTV silicone?

Not everyone that I know of. I don't know of anyone who would rtv the throttle body to the upper intake, it seems like over kill and a time waster. And a mess. If a new gasket doesn't do the trick, you did the trick wrong.

I used RTV with my aftermarket accufab tbody as it's bigger and the factory gasket is too small. Leave it loose and put your fingers in there and you can feel where its off and in the way. No alignment issues with RTV, perfect fit and seal.
