Hmm..... Question....
Would like to add a Remote start, and the alarm comes with it im sure.
but the main thing, is the remote start...
How much of a pain in the ass is this?
if someone did it, let me know what you bought, and what kind of modules need replacing and perhaps some pics would be nice!
i dont know where the wireless module is right now anyway, and the main part is... the whole "find your car by pressing panic" is a complete waste of time.... i will need to be standing on my hood, to find where my car is for the remote to work (and yes ive changed the batteries many times)
insight... please.:bows:

I added a remote start to my MM.
It took 8hrs. I soldered & heat shrink tubed all the connections. The parts you may need will depend on the system you chose to install. If I had to do it again I would.

Its about that time of year that a lot of places will be having starters on sale, wiring up a remote starter is not like hooking up a set of driving lights if you accidentally tap into the wrong wire you could fry something also our cars need an extra module that's another 50 bucks for the anti theft system, a coupple of years ago I got the viper 5900 security/starter/doorlocks installed at futureshop for 400 total. Totally worth it. If they screw up they pay, if something quits they fix plus futureshop offers a free uninstall. Its well worth the 150 bucks they charge to install.

As a previous A/V installer, I always recommend having a professional install alarms and remote starts. Simple fact is just like 4play said if they screw up, they pay. But really the main point is especially with DEI products (Avital, Viper, Clifford) as long as you have it installed by an authorized dealer the installer will warranty the labor for life and DEI warranties the products (alarm brain & modules) for life as well. Remotes carry standard warranty.

I did mine because I was the electrical, squeaks, rattles & water leaks guy for the 10+ years I spent as a Lincoln, Mercury & Ford tech.

I would do mine but I'm too lazy and I wouldn't dare have someone use crimps on my car.
