View Full Version : Q: Is there any type of "coating" on the inside of our windshields?

I ask this question because I recently peeled off one of those dealer service reminder "stickers" and there is some type of residue left over that plain old glass cleaner won't clean off. :mad2: I figured a single edge razor blade would clean off the residue, the same way you can remove adhesive from state inspection stickers, but I've never used a single edged razor on the inside of this windshield and don't want to remove any type of coating that may or may not be there
Thanks in advance for any assistance!

Use the blade. I use one to remove city stickers for many years. No issues.

Is your windshield tinted? If so, be careful with the blade.

If it wasn't raining, I would go use the blade:mad2: I didn't want to try Goof Off because it always leaves a thin film that is a pain in the a**!
Thanks for the reply fastblackmerc!

It's just got that "dot matrix" stuff near the top, but I'm cleaning well below that area.
Thanks for that tip DEFYANT!

Use rubbing alcohol to get the Goof Off off.

Use rubbing alcohol to get the Goof Off off.
And then what do I use to remove the film left behind by the rubbing alcohol fastblackmerc?
Again, thanks for the advice everyone!
