During MV8, those attending generously took part in a 50/50 raffle. One winner would receive half of the funds collected and it was decided that the other half would be contributed to the Vachon family in memory of Alex.
We collected $420. fastblackmerc (Jim) won the drawing, collecting $210. Jim decided to give back $100 of his winnings and put it into the fund for Alex.
One of our usual dice games during our Meets, LCR, had an exciting three-round game before fordfrk (Jack) won the pot. Jack generously contributed $50 from his winning to the fund for Alex.
The total amounted to $360.
MercuryMarauder.Net is matching that amount, bringing the total to $720.
Dave and Abby, Alex's parents, are still working out the details for the use of the funds. Dave will post here when he has some information to share. Dave and I had a nice chat on the phone today.
God Bless and Keep Dave, Abby and Summer. You continue to be in our thoughts and prayers and Alex will always be in our hearts.

Maybe now it's time to speak up. At the funeral, Abby asked me to look into a Marauder 'shaped' vessel for Alex to rest in. Maybe a model or something. There's a ceramic shop near my home and I've discussed this idea with the owner.
This may be a fitting use... :dunno:
Thanks to the site and our 'family' for coming together in times like this.

Mary, Thank You for posting
Summer, Abby and myself would like to thank all who donated funds and kind thoughts of our son Alex (Marauderboi) at MV8, before his crash it was our plan to drive up to MA, to attend my nephews wedding on Sept 4th and stop in at MV8 on our way home to FL. As some of you know Alex crashed in my MM and the Marauder we bought for him sits in the driveway in need of repair and at this time is undriveable. Abby enjoys driving his crown vic but I would like to get his Marauder driveable again. Mary can you hold the funds at this time for future use to repair his MM. I bought his from a former member here and found out the frame was tweaked in a prior crash. The dealer inspected his MM and advised it was repairable. And we plan to repair it.
Thanks again to all of our MM.Net family members here who have kept us all in your thoughts and prayers, sent flowers and donation it means alot to us

It's wonderful that you plan to repair Alex' Marauder David. Alex was indeed thought and spoken about very fondly by so many at MV8. I know Eric and I would have enjoyed the chance to meet him if only..... Please know you and your family continue to be in our prayers.
