03 GM 2v...cv H pipe, duel exhaust, rear cat delete, aero 2525...sounds great when i start from a stop but goes away and gets quiet under normal driving...would like a little louder/sinister sounding...any suggestions? three choices 1.shorty headers 2. 2 high flow cats/no rears cats 3. No cats! have rear 02s turned off when i reflash my tune. not sure i want to go catless, although it is the cheapest solution.
Will high flow cats make my car louder...or just improve flow and performance slightly?....has anyone removed all cats w/ mil elims or rear 02s turned off and what did it do for your sound? did you have any running issues?...seems to be alot of mixed opinions on the catless issue...aside from the illegal one, which im aware of which is prob why i wont do it!

Due to our inspections in NY, I wouldn't suggest removing the cats. Replacing with high-flo will make it louder. What size pipes are you running? A set of headers will make it much louder as well.

If you remove the cats completely without replacing with something...you probably attract enough attention to have a Copper want to take a look underneath.

Get some Mandrel bent stainless steel 2.25" or 2.5" mid-pipe and tail pipes (over axle) done. That will increase sound and performance while still staying legal with emissions/inspection most likely.
I wouldn't go cat-less, I would do at least two Magnaflow high-flow 200 coil count cats. That's what I changed to when I had my whole system from the stock manifolds back done. Driver's side front O2 sensor should be in the manifold, the rear would be before where the rear cat was. Passenger side O2 sensors will be in the downtube, only if it is set up like the Marauder's for both sides.
If you look closely you can see the O2 sensor bungs in my old downtubes.

what shorty headers would you all recommend that fit the best in our cars? although a marauder might be a bit different even though there essentially the same car.

Same platform, but different engine (4V 4.6L vs 2V 4.6L), and some other variances as well.
Here are a couple of sources for you to check out, should work for a CV or GM:

Try different mufflers first - where on LI are you?
I'll let you listen to my set-up w/Magnaflows.

Aero Turbine 2525 are about the loudest free-flowing mufflers you can get. lol

A MM has a 4V engine the CV has a 2V.
You will need to look into getting a set of Mustang shorty's and a 99~04 mid pipe section.
FYI the stock midpipe is only 1-7/8"

I don't doubt the sound claim or the quality/good looks.
Um, you can't restrict the diameter/split the flow path and incease the overal flow rate of the exhaust stream - there are laws of physics that come into play that are hard to deny.
They ARE nice looking mufflers and should last as long as they say and maintain the same flow/sound properties for the life of the muffler but as far as increasing flow rate - that's impossible. Every racecar on the planet would be running mufflers like these instead of straight pipes. when it comes to claims like those in the video I am reminded of the following:

ImpalaSlayer you should make a youtube video so myself and other peeps can hear your system. I already have the aero's and they are my second wife, i love making her moan at night time when its just me and her alone. That was the only thing i did was put in the aero's. I want to hear your's to see if i should change the deletes.

200+ db? rofl
Most air planes that take off are around 180+ db.
breeze, DOOM is louder than ImpalaSlayer and I'm probably on par or close to ImpalaSlayer now.

I thought there was an issue with clearance if the cv or gm used the gt 2v shorty headers. If I'm wrong tell me, because if so, I will be getting a set asap.

Sorry to bump up an old thread, but I do believe I have the loudest car... not the marauder but the mach1. Same motor, but hooker long tubes, offroad x, and borla stinger catback (straight thru mufflers). When you rev it in an underpass or tunnel, it's so surprisingly loud, it's as if someone shot a 45 next to you without you expecting it.
Best memory I have of how loud it is, is a friend called me once to tell me he saw me on the freeway... and that he couldn't hear his harley when I went by him (I wasn't even going WOT).
With that being said, does anyone make offroad lead pipes/flow tubes/whatever they're called - so you can replace just those and have the catted stock pipes intact?
How hard is the long tubes install on these things? It was an 11 hour pain in the posterior on the mustang, having to drop the K member, remove the starter and so on...
