I was browsing my local CL and stumbled along this..
http://stlouis.craigslist.org/ctd/1976501673.html

I would consider this one deceased.
Someone should Call Joe and get the VIN.

I swear I have seen this car around town By big bend.

I have one question for the owner... WHY?!?

Poor Marauder indeed! :(

Some observations, ad states car has "factory Cobra engine" - that's incorrect, unless it's a replacement.

The seller states that $30K was invested but only lists two mods, paint and wheels not counting an engine replacement.

What would the paint cost $8K? That would put the wheels/tires at $10K and the new engine at $10K. Does that sound right?

There is prolly an upgraded audio system in there someplace, $2K. Also, could there be some engine decor?

It would interest me if it had lambo doors plus the aforementioned mods.:cool5:

This color is quite similar to what was called "poison green". it was derivesd from Arcenic, a heavy metal poison.

It is dead for sure. It has always amazed me why these cars are always for sale, the person who did this doesn't like it good enough to keep it. They are either ashamed of it after they have done the damage, or all the expense and work is not satisfying.

Was wondering the same myself, Pat.

Interesting no pics of the engine included...

The engine appears 100% stock. It looks like the sub woofers were taken out of the trunk so no fancy stereo accept a head unit.
I think this car is savable. Put stock wheels back and repaint it black. The interior wasn't butchered.

Those wheels are probably $5,000 each. Big rims are not cheap!

I tried to imagine this car with factory wheels and it still didn't work for me. Paint is just to bright. FAIL:puke:

Agreed, paint job appears excellent but oh that green, be like riding around in a bottle of Prell shampoo...

It is a fairly early build so was orig black...

Some people just don't have anything better to do with their left-over drug money.
What a shame.:shake:

It says "factory Cobra motor" because that is what people who don't know about MMs call it and it is the most famous version of the 32v 4.6. Also it sounds much more impressive than saying you have an Aviator motor, since even fewer people know what an Aviator is. You'll also find many people who say the Mark VIII has a "factory Cobra motor" even though it is even farther away from the power output than ours.

$20k seems a little on the low end for the modifications that are visible, so there wasn't anything left over for an engine swap anyway.

The paint was done "right" and by that I mean it looks like the car was properly disassembled before painting, IE the jambs, underside of the hood and trunk all match. So that pain(t) job easily ate up most of that $20K.

Its deceased because its been painted and other rims put on it?......

repaint it and swap the rims, then it can be a zombie marauder... brought back from the dead......
ridiculous

someone liked the car like that and im sure it will sell like that

Yeah, at least it looks like everything is un-doable.
There's no green paint in the interior.:shake:

The bad part about that is to undo it "right" would be alot of work.
