Hey everyone,
I've got the itch for something in the world of sport coupe with a standard transmission, so I think it's about time I let go of the Marauder. Open to reasonable offers for sure. Car is located in San Antonio, Tx. Below is basically the craigslist ad I created for it:
*Price drop to $8K*
"Up for sale is my 2003 Mercury Marauder, early year production 300A. Car has as of today almost right at 107,000 miles on the clock.
It's a great car, I love it dearly and will hate to see it go, but I want something a little more sporty. (And I have my eye on something in particular, so I'm VERY motivated to talk a deal right now if you hurry).
Good stuff:
Trans rebuilt around 7K miles ago.
Newish serpentine belt.
New rear tires.
New headlight housings (old ones were hazy)
Repaired LCM: headlights work always instead of periodically shutting off by themselves.
Bad stuff:
Only real bad thing on the car is the paint, and it isn't terrible. The roof and trunk lid have seen their fair share of sun exposure, so the clear coat is a little hazy. Elsewhere, aside from a nick or two on a couple of the doors, the paint is pretty nice. There is a rip in the back seat as well.
Mods:
JLT Short Ram Intake
4.10 rear diff gear ratio swapped from 3.55 (also, rear end rebuilt at the same time as install, roughly 9k miles ago.)
Steeda brand Under-Drive pulleys
ECU retune via SCT XCal3 handheld tuning device, with a tune loaded from Alternative Automotive (tuner's name is Lidio)
Ultra-lightweight aluminum driveshaft so there are no driveline problems with the 4.10 gears.
Aftermarket mufflers and a few other mods to the exhaust (read: car makes plenty of noise in the engine department, sounds like a classic muscle car.) Aftermarket exhaust tips were added because they were missing when I bought the car.
A number of cosmetic mods, including stainless steel bumper inserts that read "Marauder", God's-head badges on the grill trunklid and steering wheel, green footwell interior lights, trunklip spoiler.
Aftermarket radio is installed, a Kenwood DPX503. GREAT sound, bass is pretty awesome too for factory speaker setup.
Dorman locking lugnut set, as the factory lugs were rusting.
Converted the rear suspension from air springs to heavy duty coil springs, the bags stopped holding air so I just made sure that problem wouldn't happen again.
I have the majority of parts I pulled off the car, any of them are yours to go with the car if you can haul it. I would ask that you take as much as possible, it would do me no good really.
I can't think of anything else really, if there are ANY questions, please email me. I am looking to sell ASAP, I've had it for two wonderful years but I'm not meant to have this car and I want to move on my next car as soon as I can."
I also must add that the rear end is still having some sort of issue, I think the s-spring needs to be replaced to be ok, but last time I took it in the mechanic said it should be OK to drive for a while without issue but the posi-trac just won't work properly.
