Saturday evening on the way home from Union Grove having dinner with Hack Goby & POps, the car quit running three times.
The last time it had to cool down a few minutes, before it would restart.
Before we left for racing Sunday AM, justbob data logged the pumps performance for me and concluded that it was toast.
Time for the GT40 fuel pump installation, along with a new fuel filter.
I have had the pump for months but other stuff kept getting moved ahead of it.
I suggest this upgrade to anyone who has a similar set up, really made the old pump feel whimpy in comparison.
The pump that came out had 101K and 71K supercharged miles.

Not to steal your thread, but wasn't there a pump out of a ZX2, or something like that, that gave better performance, & less expensive, I think I remember a post about a year ago or so.

I think alot of guys have gone with the SVT focus pump. I chose the more expensive option with the GT40 unit.
This was my tuners recomendation, and so far he has been spot on with advice.

? Thermal shutdown of the pump? GT40s are cheap if you look around... I like mine.

I wonder why it is getting hot enough to shut down?
I haven't had any problems out of mine.

I went new and paid more but my tuner has to survive too.
I wonder why it is getting hot enough to shut down?Maybe 7 years of service and 101K miles of punishment?

sorry for the confusion
My fuel pump failure happened to the stock fuel pump after almost seven years of service and 101K miles.
The GT40 pump that my buddie put in last week has worked flawlessly!
