I swear I was buying this at Advance Auto but they don't have it anymore and I can't find it anywhere on the internet. It had a gold cap. Do they not make it anymore? I went to a Ford dealer the other day to pick some up and the guy said they were out of stock. This leads me to believe that I can't get it anymore. Does anyone have any thoughts on this or know where I can get it?

Thanks.

Try Wally World or AutoZone.

I tried AutoZone with no luck. We don't have Wally World up here.

They even have Mobile1 5w20 full synthetic. Cheaper than the FLAPS.

Look for lots of oil shortages for the next month or so. There are new oil specs "SN" is replacing the current "SM" spec. The effective date was Oct 1st 2010 so in some cases they are holding back those oils until the system is clear of the old SM spec oils. Also because of the rush to certify so many oils it may be due to waiting for the certification, since they didn't finalize the spec until the middle of June 2010, leaving only 3 1/2 months for the oil makers to formulate, test and obtain certification.

When they introduced the current diesel spec of CJ there was about 2 months were I couldn't find Motorcraft 15-40.

EMAS is correct. Look for the price to go up, too, as many of these oils will also get certified for GM's new dexos (yes, all lower case) requirement, the cost of which will get passed on to the consumer.

Also, Wally's and most FLAPS never carried Motorcraft 5W-20 in FULL synthetic, only the blend. AAP did get their hands on some a short while ago, but I think that was a fluke.

I've bought 90% of my Mobil 5W-20 from Wal-Mart, they usually are sold out of it since it is a few dollars cheaper than the autoparts stores. Last time I bought some it was $22-23 for a 5 Quart jug.

I never seen RP in any Wal Marts I've visited.

The Wal Mart near me has Mobile1 5w20 for a little over $21.00 / 5 quart container.

Ask them when they get deliveries. I'd also tell the store manager that you'd like to buy your oil there but they never have it.

My local Wal-Mart is normally sold out of Mobil 1 5W-20 and they do carry RP gear oil and single quarts of motor oil.
