I would like to trade my Low mileage Db electrical 260 amp alternator for a new or low mile stock oem alternator. Db one works fine but doesnt produce the same output at idle in drive as the factory alternator. I do mostly stop and go local driving and at idle at stop lights is where I need the juice. PM if intrested.

So factory puts out more volts at idle than DB? - Can't you get a smaller alternator pulley?

"DB Electrical" is the company that sells the alternator.

I had the same issue with a PA Performance unit on my first MM. They walked me through a few test points over the phone and sent me a new one with return packing slip in it for the old unit.
Have you asked Db about it? I would think an exchange is in order.
Way too many amps for such a small case.

I contacted them they said it may be a slipping belt. I replaced the belt same problem. I think it just that the cars idle is lower when I am in drive with my foot on the brake and the alternator doesnt produce enough amps at this speed. The alternator works fine but the dropping voltmeter at lights and stop sighns just bothers me.
Point your leaf blower at the back of the alternator at idle and tell us if the voltage goes up.
When the rectifier bridge isnt getting sufficient airflow the voltage drops.

Exact same thing happens to me whether I'm running a stocker or a DB.
