Hello everyone, I am looking for something new to me, my current ride is a 06 Trailblazer,it has been plagued by little things going wrong with it and I am ready to move on. One of the cars I am considering is a Marauder. There are two not far away that I want to go look at http://preownedvehicles.riveroakshond a.com/web/inventory/All_years/Mercury/All_models/All_body_types/Preowned/?stores=2134%2C1945%2C1944 looking at the pics which one would be considered to be the better buy. One of the reasons, I am looking at one of these cars is because the platform is rock solid, cheap to own and last a long time does that also apply to the Marauders? Thanks for any suggestions.
Xrayman.

I think they are both a little overpriced, I paid 13,500 for min 3 years ago, with the same mileage. Look around there are less expensive ones available, some probably here. As for the car, the best I've ever owned.

Thanks for the reply, I agree the cars are way overpriced. As time allows I want to go take a look at them. If I decided to buy I would start my negotiations well below what the dealer is asking.

You might want to find a member close by that could help out.

What is listed is a little overpriced, however also keep in mind the Marauder is a rarer car so you will pay more for it than for a Crown Vic. But the rarity is part of what makes it special and you will absolutely love the uniqueness of the car once owned.

I'd gladly sell you mine, with 42,000 on it, for that price.

The DTR is way over priced. The '03 Black for the mileage isn't too far out of the ballpark. This is the dealers starting off price so you'd pay less. The issue I see is it looks like it's had a hard life. Paint looks bad. I'd low ball it and go from there

Yes the longevity and quality does apply to Marauders as well, a few things on Marauders may be a bit more expensive then a Vic but still very reasonable.

The black one looks like a very nice Marauder for a northeast car (no visible corrosion), but what about the wheels. they repeat the same wheel, 4 times, what about the other three? are they sc*****-up? As part of the final negotiation, try to have the dealer touch-up the scrape on the rear interior panel. They can probably do a better job that you or I can. This MM looks basically unmolested and I would seriously consider it.

Since this has less than 60K on it, you should be prepared to have some work done on it. The trans and differiential serviced. The electronic controls have had to be repaired/replaced on mine at 60 to 68K including the BCM, EATC, and LCM. This site has the details on each for you to do yourself or to make sure the dealer does it right.

My Marauder is a great factory custom machine. Jim

buy a garage queen and pay the market price. This is a true limited edition American high performance car. They are cheap now because the economy is in tatters and most can not distinguish between a CV Sp (which is also pretty rare compared to the mass of Grand Marquis and recycled cop cars) and a Marauder. This will change in a few years once the cops are driving volts or some other junk and the taxi fleets adopt another car to transport the tourists from the airport to the casino.
In any case it is less expensive to but a queen than try to return a more heavily defiled car to queen condition.

Update, I went to the dealer today, the black one was sold, the DTR has seen better days as result, I took a pass. Thanks for the responses.
