Well I had to get my car smogged last week. I have a Lidio tune, deleted rear cats and am about 2k miles late for an oil change. So I was a little worried that I wouldnt pass, especially after I saw them bring out the tailpipe sniffer (which they didnt do last time). So I waited and watched and about 15 minutes later was given the thumbs up. So I passed, even in California. not the most exciting story ever I know but just wanted to give some good news to thoughs here in this state.

Everytime I read a California emissions story it makes my heart warm with content that even though I live in this God-forsaken state...I'm exempt from anything that has to do with emissions :D

So you passed with rear cat delete? Did you cut them out or hollow them out? I too live in this wonderful smog test state.

The cats are cut out. I went to a 76 station to get the smog done. I'm not to sure if the guy even knew it was supposed to have 4 cats. I mean its a "Grand Marquis" after all why even give it a second look .

My MM also passed smog with deleted rear cats. I guess most places only look at the top of the motor for visuals.

You are lucky you live in Santa Maria as it is not one of the tough counties. I live in santa clara county and it is tough. The rural areas still have decent rules.
