has anyone have any experience with the STS rear mounted turbos? I just came across their web site. They offer both single and double turbos. Rear mounted with adjustable boost. Not as much boost as a supercharger.no belts and supposedly an increase in MPG..any comments? kits seem to run 1k for single 2k for double.. installation supposed to be 8 hours...I'm thinking:shake:

Only a few that I know of, have tried to go turbo on a Marauder.
They do make lots O power!
That company has a poor reputation for customer service, from what I have read.
The exhaust piping has to run under the front K member.
Some quick , puts you at only a few inches of ground clearance .

There was a Mustang set-up for sale here about a year or so ago, I didn't know they made a set-up for our cars. One advantage is you don't need an after-cooler, the piping runs so far, it's not needed. The disadvantage, is that piping is hard to run neatly, when you get it done, take lots of pics, for those of us interested.

I've seen a Mustang with one, the rear bumper cover was melted.

I have seen quite a few 4th gen Camaros and Firebirds with them with some really good results..

The problem with the STS kits is due to rear mounted turbos you have to run oil lines to the rear of the car..... the turbos burn out due to lack of oil! I WAS a dealer, I'd look elsewhere for power.

That 1 and 2k price tag is for the turbos only, dont kid yourself on thinking its an entire kit. And yeah, the cars are so damn long there is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAy too much piping.

Do NOT take short cuts on power. You will get burned every time. If and when I finish putting my turbo kit together myself.... I will have an easy 5-6 grand into it. Sure, I have the hard to get pipes now, but that is a tiny piece of the puzzle.

My comment from this previous STS turbo thread which was a comment from yet another STS turbo thread.

" I know that the remote turbo systems work, but here's my post from the last time this was discussed:
Marauders are long wheelbase cars...SO...you are going to run 4 pipes front to back to make the system work.
2 Exhaust Pipes
2 Turbo to intercooler pipes
Plus the following:
1: Lonnnnnnng Turbo Oil feed lines
2: Lonnnnnnng Turbo Oil return lines (probably need an auxillary oil scavenge pump for the oil return.)
3: Lonnnnnnng Turbo water coolant lines (for water jacketed Turbo bearings, which is what you want.)
4: Unlike the late model Mustangs which have room for Turbos out back because that is where Ford mounted the OEM mufflers, our Marauders DO NOT have a lot of space.
5: Air filters/turbo intakes are hanging down by the rear wheels...LOTS of dirt, road debris and water down there!
6: A few cold beers to drink while you wait for boost to build in 15 feet of piping.
For the life of me I cannot figure out how those STS systems work.
When the turbo(s) are close to the exhaust ports they get hit with the HOT, HIGH VELOCITY exhaust gas pulses.....That's what spools the turbos!
To me, the remote turbo system is like blowing through a garden hose to clear out the water before a cold freeze....ever do that? "
