I picked up a new EGR/DPFE module at the Ford dealer, I paid $130+ for it. comes with a stainless gasket and two new bolts.

Got it installed and my stumble at low revs at light throttle is totally gone. Nice because it was annoying. The symptom: if was most noticeable in 4th gear at 45-48 or so on a gentle upward grade at light throttle pressure I'd get a bucking/stumble problem. Almost felt like a miss, car would jerk/choke and then recover.

Replaced EGR/DPFE and it's perfect again. The design looked a bit different than the stock part. Nice and clean and shiney too. This may or may not be your problem but it fixed mine. No more CEL (bank too lean) either.

I know there have been a few other threads (re: stumble) and wanted to post up my positive results.

Could you post a pic for the masses? I know what it is, others may not. p.s., when I changed my upper intake with a nice sand blastedly shiney one, those two bolts and that stainless gasket were a sumbitch to keep lined up, lol.

You cleaned the stock part first, correct?

Just strong arm the EGR pipe. It's even tougher with a PHP spacer installed already. (like I have) I'll snap one tommorow

Ok where is this located and what does it look like?

I have this same issue and am getting mixed results with google.

Doesn't it look like a can on the drivers side of the engine up top?

Interesting thread. My '04 does this occasionally. Sometimes leaving a light it will act like the key was turned off/on quickly. Sometimes accelerating, too. It will on/off/on jerk a few times and it's discouraging because I usually almost spill my beer. I may look into these parts as a potential cause.

I keep having the conditions of this description, but keep throwing a code for a fuel rain sensor. I've changed it and noting has changed. Could this be the EGR after all?

Does this part have two bolts and a circular part to it?

EGR looks like a UFO on the pass. side of the intake.

Got it. Attached to the intake, NOT the firewall and isn't that part by the throttle body.

Thank you.
