Trans temp circuit too high
trans was rebuilt around 40k ago, car has roughly 180k on it now.
Im thinking about getting under there and checking the bulkhead connector before thinking about finding another trans (i DONT want to tear open the VB and god only knows how bad this could be).
What do you think this is caused by?
Any ideas? Any suggestions?
It could be something as simple as a metal particle bridging the 2 metal ends on the resistor in the transmission.
I thought you got a CVPI

Yep. I did. Car has a trans out of a 03 marauder with 10k miles at the time.
Same transmission anyway (exception for 2004)
If it WAS NOT a small piece of metal bridging the sensor, where would you start looking first?

First id log the temp its sending to the PCM to verify if the sensor is good or bad.

Looks fine to me.
Clear the code and see what happens

Cleaned the bulkhead connector and no go. Any other ideas without dropping the trans?

I had the same code in my Grand Marquis, did a flush & filter and it cleared it for awhile. Then it came back and they had to replace the hard plastic "wiring harness" in the trans pan. Then the transmission blew up.

How hard is it to replace that harness?

Drop the pan, remove the filter, pull the harness, replace*.
I'm not saying that's what is wrong with yours, I'm merely suggesting that it could be your problem.
