ok tonight after work i was driving home and a lady pulling out of a store, didnt stop and i slammed right into her:mad2::mad2: thankfully the cops sided with me, she has insurance and i have a person that saw it so i am going to be getting something. so as of right now i can tell it needs hood, RF fender, header panel, grill, front bumper, headlight, turn signal, wheel, passenger side front door wont open, windshield broke, something up with the suspension(passenger side front wheel not turned as much as drivers side and top leaning in) and something broke(im thinking radiator) that caused alot of oil to spill out, and steering wheel. so what do you guys think this should cost if there is no frame damage(witch i kinda dought i hit her going about 30 or 35)? and will it even feel the same after its done? AND my arm is broke too cause i was laying on the horn when the bag went off.

This has been a bad few weeks for marauders... are you serious about your arm!?!

I had a similar incident with my 1st Marauder. The bags came out/they totalled the car. Same damage as you described except the outer most 'horn' on the frame was bent slightly inward. The guy I sold the wreck to drove it away. Also - I got a bad burn from the airbag that I still have a scar from. Not laying on the horn - the impact threw my left arm to the right, while extended I got the burn. Bad crash, I was lucky - these cars are safe.

hey bud sorry to hear about your mishap, as for your damage you realy wont know until you get everything pulled apart to see how bad the damage realy is , hopefully the frame ,and carrige are ok.

If you windshield broke from the impact, then the car is toasted.
The frame had to twist the body in order to put enough stress
on the windshield to break it.

Cannot express how sorry I am to hear about the car, and your arm. Hope the arm was only a simple fracture and will heal without any loss of function. The car sounds bad. Depending on the insurance company, it may be totalled. I certainly hope not. At least you are not more seriously injured. Best of luck - please keep us posted on your condition and that of the car.

Sorry to hear about your injury and this accident. :( Get well soon!!!

This is the 2nd accident in 4 days right. Weren't you just rear-ended by Honda boy?

145k on the clock and a ton of front end damage, it's done. A used front clip for a MM will cost 3-4k at a yard, plus airbags and any unforseeable damage, 7k to fix with used parts, it will be totaled.

Sorry about your arm, hope it heals quickly, airbag burns are not pleasant, nor are broken bones.

In the future......
Use the brakes instead of the horn, the brakes will prevent damage, the horn just lets them know your coming.

You may want to look into buying something a little more expendable (as opposed to a limited production car) till your driving skills improve ( 2 wrecks in a week).

Sorry to hear about everything, hope you heal quickly and good luck with the car since it will probably be totaled with that much damage at high mileage.

Obviously you won't know until they check out the car, but from what you've described, the car may be totaled.

Heal quickly, and if they total your Marauder...check into buying it back from the insurance company.

j/k..... Sorry to hear about the accident. Luckily you're young enough your arm should hopefully heal without much trouble. It's too bad you never got a chance to truly enjoy the car.

Make sure RoyLPita has your VIN to add to the dead list if they do total it. And if they do total it, PM me which scrapyard they haul it off to so I can scavenge the parts off of it. (sorry, not trying to be morbid)

thank you everyone for your kind words it means alot. arm is doing better, thanks in part to pain meds :) their insurance said they will cover all bills(shop has not looked at how much it will cost or if they will total it) and were gonna try and get a lawyer to get pain and suffering and lost wages. if anyone has any advice for us on that matter that would be great. here are a couple pics i took while it was at the shop. you really cant tell from the pics but the top of the passenger side wheel is leaning inward.

I know two people who both asked, and recieved, three times the total damage cost to thier vehicles for pain/suffering/lost wages. So if the bill is 10 grand, moan and groan and hold your arm and stick to your guns until they say fine, 30 grand, get out of my face.

It's a good thing your not an estimator, the right frame horn may have some sway, but that will total it as you are not supposed to be able to straighten that frame, and 5mm is all FMC gives till they call for replacement.

The car needs a right 3\4, airbag, glass, derm, and maybe a light pull on the cowl.

I didn't even notice you're from CR. I was down there earlier in the week and Brian from H&W SpeedShop asked if I was down over the weekend. I told him no and asked why. He mention he was another Marauder in town and thought it was me. I never made the connection.

Hope it isn't totaled.

well went to the doctor today, he looked over the x rays and he didnt see any brake so thats kinda good i guess. we still havent heard back from the insurance yet so we dont know if if its totaled yet. if they do total it were trying to determine the true value of it, 03 300A 145,000, cd changer, CAI, Flowmaster exhaust, cross drilled slotted brakes, and every person who has looked at it in every shop its been to says there amazed at how good of condition its in. so what do you guys think?

im thinking about letting my brother take back over whatever happens with it so that i wouldnt have a payment anymore. the car im looking at now is a 98 Cadillac DeVille, 142,000 miles all options except sunroof. im thinking that because i think it will be really close to the marauder in terms of speed, comfort, and options and its FWD witch should be better in winter. the want 2500 for and it shows no signs of head gasket issues.

Zack
10-22-2010, 12:28 PM
98 Cadillacs will cost you money. Buy another Marauder or Crown Vic.

As for insurance value, its prolly worth 4-5k TOPS to them

If the air bags pop and the passenger door does not open, it is likely the insurance will total the Marauder.
What is the VIN as someone here tracks marauders and this may result in another entry in the RIP file.

well the insurance company only wants to pay 8600 for it we will talk with them cause the cars they came up with as comparisons either dont exist, or are grand marquis. so well be going back to them saying no less than 12000 or just fix it. and by the way here is the vin 2MEHM75V43X636297 so someone could put that on the dead list :(

Don't sign a waiver for coverage of any future medical costs due to this accident. Get a seperate payout from the car for your medical and "suffering".

so your saying to get a payout for the car then one for medical then one for suffering? why? and why should we not sign a waiver for future medical? and hell yeah im sticking to my guns it was their stupid client that cause that amazing to be wreck so their gonna pay:banana::banana: it still suck that its gonna be totaled though:bigcry::bigcry: but i did find a nice 02 crown vic lx with HPP 75000 miles all options for 5400 that would some what like the marauder, right:D

If you sign the waiver, and say a year later, you have complications from your injuries, you will be on your own. I had a back issue pop up abour 3 years after and crash where I was hit broadside. Don't sign a waiver, do yourself a favor.

They'll try and lump everything together, car, medical, pain/suffering, while related, they are all seperate, and need to paid out as such. Another thing the insurance won't want to do, but it will break all costs down for your reference. Your mileage may vary....

I doubt you'll get it for $500, insurance companys usually send them to auction, where the ones with less than 100K mi will often bring over $3000... With the damage and fairly high mileage on yours, it'll still probably bring $2000, if you can get it for that figure you're lucky...

If the insurance co does keep it...take the floor mats out and find a set of steel wheels and cheap tires to replace the ones on it. SELL! Dibs on 1 wheel and floor mats! I totaled my 96 grand am and took everything aftermarket out of it and put the originals in side of it. If they don't know the difference it won't hurt them.
