Ok fellas, just got the Marauder out and this is my new exhaust setup:
FRPP Ceramic coated shorty headers, Magnaflow X-pipe, Mach I mid-pipe swap, 2.5" piping to the Corsa db Black mufflers. All I gotta say is I love em:D I also still have the stock Meg tips with resonators!
I am really happy with this setup sounds ballsy while still stealthy not too loud on idle. But you go WOT oh yeah! Much better than the Flowmaster 40 series 2 chambers setup.
A little clip I made, Enjoy!

Hi Ho Brian:
sound good! Did you change the Cars? If so what did you purchase?
thinking of upgrading the exhaust piping from the headers back to the stock mufflers.
Have ruled out the shorties given my experience from installing Gibson shorties on my wifes Durango. Even with the shorties and full Gibson 3" Cat back exhust system not much gain in HP!
See Ya

Hey Fred,
I swapped a Cobra/Mach I mid-pipe with cats (4) over. Lot's of Marauders have found added HP gains in the shorties, and mid-pipe swap. The Marauder stock exhaust is very restrictive. Try machIregistry.com, svtperformance.com, and corral.net for used mid-pipes. I found one locally for $100. You could go aftermarket catted x pipe from Magnaflow as well, but their not CARB approved but will pass smog.
Cheers!

Main problems with the Marauder OEM exhaust as I see it:
Stock manifolds don't flow too well. You'll gain more going with shorty's or long tubes than Cobra manifolds.
Too many different sized pipes. Go with either 2.5" or 3" for the entire system - mandrell bent is better then crush-bent.
x-pipe or h-pipe - shouldn't see any increase or decrease in HP or TQ, the tone will change depending on what you decide to go with.
4 cats - Go with 2 hi-flo cats.
Restrictive mufflers - Flowmasters, Magnaflow's Areo's etc. are a better choice.
Short muffler cases will be louder than long muffler cases.
Resonator tips or non-resonators tips - changing to non-resonator tips will only change the sound.
If you want a quite exhaust - Don't change anything.

Hi Ho Brian:
Thanks for the advice.
My issue is tree fold
1. Most performance Cats are not legal in California therefore catalog vendors will not ship them here…so what are the “best” Cats for us here in California?
2. Am content with the stock mufflers in terms of sound tone and DB levels.
3. Am no stranger to headers, not including motorcycles and boats!, some examples:
54 Vickie, 312 y-block 4-blr AFB …Headmen full length
56 BellAir, 348- 3-2s…Clark Shorties and Full length
57 Bellaire…409, 2-4s Clark shorties and Hooker full length
65 Bob Cat 389-tripower GTO….Hooker full length
68 MK4 400 Rochester – 4bl Ram Air Firebird, Headman and Hookers…full length
68 – 70 AMX (4 of em) 390 Hookers full length
23 – T roadster, full tilt 302…full length custom header and side pipes
So from my experience both at the track and some dyno work the shorties may give you an increase from 8 to 10 HP while the full length will give you a gain from 20 to 45.
I think I can gain about 8 HP just from Cats and 2.5” “H” mid-pipe upgrade at a reasonable cost per HP.
What do you think?

Fred,
I would do the mid-pipes with higher flowing mufflers but yes 99-04 Mustang GT-03/04 Mach I/Cobra mid-pipe (with cats) swap for you goal is realistic. I would also do 2.5" pipes from cats to the muffler inlets (see if the exhaust shop can enlarge them for you).
Good luck.

Thanks I really like this setup! Yup no drone but does have interior sound because it is the most aggressive version of the db series. If you want exterior sound only go with the db Red series. OIL CAP FIXED...lol
Sounds mean.
Thanks and yes it does sound mean (interior/exterior) WOT! I cant drive this everyday because I couldnt afford the gas, tires, tickets:D
Sounds nice, enjoy :)
Thanks I am!

FINALLY is the right word...lol! Ceramic Shorties LOOK GREAT!

I can't believe another MM went with shorties. Now put the car on the track and run some 11's. Click the blue box below and see how FRPP shorties with a Magnaflow hi-flow X-pipe run with remaining stock exhaust pipes and tips.

Lidio is a major Ford Performance shop owner with big bucks and a Dyno - not a fair comparsion.

Owning a performance shop makes the stock exhaust work better? I'm saving this quote for later. Probably the funniest thing I've ever read on this site.

If you knew anything about Lidio you would know I was referrring to his ability to tune MM's on his shop Dyno. I also believe he used a shot of Nitrous to make his 11.40.
I see your still #24.

LOL what's funny is you don't even realize I was making a point that exhaust has nothing to do with anything seeing as there are many ways to make any given amount of power. It only matters when considering cars with similar mods. I'm sorry that it went over your head, my fault.
That being said, I have no idea what me being #24 has to do with anything
My car is my daily driver that I tune my self, and mod in my apartment parking lot. It is that fast every day of the week, actually faster since that time was set in '09 on 9psi, and now I'm at 16psi with more timing  I drove to the track, made one run on the gas in my tank, then went home. But again I'm sure you thought you were making a super clever point.
