Recently my alternator went south, leaving me powerless in the left turn lane, approximately 1320 feet from my subdivision.
I'm grateful the pavement was level , maybe even a tad in my favor.
Traffic was lite and no one seemed bothered by my running outside the car with the drivers door open.
I got her off the road to safety and phoned home for a ride.
I made a decision to charge the battery at home but two hours @ 6v was not enough!!!,.. DOUGH!:o!
The next morning I get a text from a member who flushed me out.
He said his friends spotted it and wondered if it was his?
It made me think of how many times I would push her through the stagging lanes at the dragstrip.:bows:
Comming soon!

And here I thought you were gonna say you were offered a ride by someone in a Toyota and you declined saying you would rather walk. I was going to give you a big thumbs up....

One thing i have noticed about Fords, and please correct me if this has not been your experience. They tend to get "sick" or "die" at home or very nearby:
1- 91 5.0 GT: Fuel pump died in driveway.
2- 94 SHO Died one block from home.
3- 84 GT 350 both fuel pumps died in garage.
4- 95 Cobra Fuel pump after starting and driving one block from my house.
5- 69 F100 Fuel pump died in entrance to neighborhood in TX AND in front of my house in UT.
6- 92 5.0 Notch - Fuseable link died in front of house.
And yes I see the fuel pump trend. They had bad ones when I got them. Apparently in Utah, the "low fuel" light is used as a reminder to get gas, not as an emergency light. Not by me, but by the boneheads who had my rides before me.

Same here lol
1. My 97 f150 serp belt shredded literally right around the corner from my driveway. Made it there just no power steering.
2. 99 f150 Idler pulley locked in the middle of a u-turn at the end of my street (not even 15 yards from where i was gonna park it in the street) lol made it... just no power steering again.
3. 99 f150 check engine light for misfire comes on pulling into driveway. and another time for something else two weeks after fixing prob, this time pulling out of the driveway.
4. Marauder starter called it quits like 3 days after having it, after I had driven to various locations (starting right up each time) and then goin home to get something. Went back out maybe 2 mins later wouldnt start.
Good man, one less example for the old Ford acronym. (Found On Road Dead)

You gotta point there. Luckily, my MM has not failed me yet, but my "old reliable" 5.0 Mustang w/ 152,000 miles on it had the proper manners to have it's distributor fail while just putting down my driveway...never even made it to the street. BTW, it is a helluva lot easier to push!!
