I know guys & gals (if any gals own a MM). If you want performance gas mileage shouldn't matter. But, for some strange reason it does to me. I drive round trip about 60-65miles a day to & from work here in the Atlanta area. My current car is a 03 Protege 5. I fill it up about every 4-5days. When I make the 8 to 10hour trek home from Atlanta to Homestead FL (26 miles below Miami) I stop once for gas. That's a near 700 mile trip. I sorta have a lead foot. Can you all tell me what you're averaging & if you take it on road trips what your mileage is on that also. The MM runs on Premium gas too, right?

IMAX, every driver's mileage varies obviously, but people have reported some pretty good mileage result on long trips with the Marauder. Do a search and you'll probably come up with quite few related threads

IMAX,
I've put on 2450 miles since new Oct 20th.
I consistently get 18-19mpg city, and 26-27mpg highway.
I had a 2002 CV Sport (before MM) that got 16-17 city, and 24-25 highway.
I was quite surprised that my MM is more fuel efficient than my CV Sport was. Go Figure, aye !

I just drove mine on a 2500 mile road trip. We got between 22 and 24 MPG. When I filled up the other day I was getting 18MPG city/highway.

I took mine on a 2,000 mile trip starting with 150 miles on the odometer. The best mileage I got was 24MPG at approximately 75MPH.

From new, I was only getting 13-15 mpg in suburban stop-and go, but I work at home and most of my trips are short, so the engine barely gets warmed up. Mileage has improved after I passed 3500 miles, and now I'm getting 17-18, which is about what I got in my previous car, a 89 Pathfinder.

I just filled up for the 4th time since I bought the car, and I averaged 21. Good mix of town & country.

Last Tuesday (12/9/03) I got my best mileage ever OTR, 24 MPG, cruising an avergage of 85 MPH, as tracked by my GPS. I never would have thought I would see this kind of mileage, "winter blends" maybe?

For my first tank of gas, I got about 16mpg with combined 50/50 city and highway driving.

I get about 20 miles to the gallon on average. But WHO CARES?
Truly IMAX if you are gonna get a MM get it as a second car.

That car never ceases to amaze me! I wonder if the cool windy weather...this is your first winter with #1, is not?

I average 22.5 hwy if I keep my foot out of it.

I don't drive to get good mileage or baby my boy, I just averaged 18 miles per gallon which included an assortment of driving of normal highway driving, 90 - 100 mph highway driving, some stop and go and around town stuff. Oh yeah, there were also 10 quick quarter mile hops mixed in there two!

Compared to my gas loving Durango (10-11 mpg, no matter what), I can't complain.

If you want better mileage, take the bus!

UAW 588- I agree!! But,it's hard not to appreciate a car this big and powerful that can get GOOD gas mileage. My trade in-Lincoln Navigator had a drinking problem that no amount of AA meetings could cure!! Used the same routes daily as the Marauder, it used exactly TWICE as much gas(approx 9MPG) and I never came close to hotrodding the Nav the way I do the Merc! Worst of all-that little overhead computer always displaying current MPG. I used to joke that she was rubbing it in my face how much she was drinkin'!!

If you bought a MM you shouldn't be concerned with the gas mileage. IMO.:D

My return trip from TN, just about a week ago, had to drive slow (65-70mph) because Mrs. Casey was following me in her newly purchased Jeep, I got 25.6, 27.8, and 24.2 (big traffic jam). The car just amazes me. I've had it down around 15 (lotta playing in traffic) but by and large, I can't think of more than a couple tanks that didn't average above 20mpg. Best of all, I get at least 1000 smiles per gallon!

...for all the info. Y'all have been very helpful. Can't afford 2 cars yet. Not ballin' yet. Well keep the stories coming. The more I research on this car.. The more I forget about the 03 F150 Harley Davidson... Thanks for helping...

I absolutely love those Harley trucks as they are so beautiful, but if it's anything like the 02 Lightning I ever had, I bet it sure drinks a lot of gas. My Lightning only averaged about 8mpg. I traded in my 03 Land Rover Discovery(had issues) to get the Marauder and I think I only got about 12mpg in that SUV.

I don't know what to make of this myself, Barry, checked my numbers twice too. Yep, it's her first taste of cold weather, I'll keep an eye on this to see what changes.

All summer long, it was her first taste (test?) of OTR excursions too, and I am not disappointed. I have to remember that Kenny's intent with his "whole car" approach was to build the ultimate touring sedan that can't be touched by those 70-85K roadsters. I believe Kenny Brown has done well with his slice of the MM performance pie.

I drive my car every day. My Marauder is my daily driver since my 73 Vette cannot be driven in the snow, and because the Vette only gets 10 MPG weather I get on it or not(however I always do).

My Marauder gets 13 MPG in the city, and 15 MPG on the highway, but keep in mind that I have installed the most extreme rear end gears in my MM than anyone on the board has(4.56's). And when I had the stock 3.55's in the rear, I was getting 17 MPG city, and 20 MPG highway. When I had the 4.10 gears in the rear(yes, I had them too) I was getting 15 MPG city, and 17 MPG highway. I hope this helps you.:)

My MM is my daily driver, mostly highway and I drive it like I rented it. I get about 20mpg almost every time. It is the best gas mileage car I've ever owned. I would like to take it on a road trip and see how good it does.

Where else can you find a car with that much luxury, comfort, performance and gas mileage? I smile everytime I start it.
