Well......sadly I had to remove my ProCharger today to send it back for a second "Rebuild" and BOY is the car S-L-O-W now!!! :shake: :geezer:

It is amazing how you can get so used to the additional power and when it is removed it feels like the car weighs 7,000 POUNDS!!!

FYI......my ProCharger made it 63K miles on the original installation and PC rebuilt it under warranty....sort of....now with 72K more miles on it this rebuild will be on me but I will gladly do it to get my "Race Car Performance" back!! :bows::banana:

I'll send it off Monday and they say I can expect to have it back in about 2 weeks!! :burnout:

Whew...from the title I thought you were going to tell us it blew up...

'jack, why did your hairdryer need a rebuild? Leaking seal? Problem with the gearset or impeller? ...or this is a normal interval for ProChargers?

the new hyundia sonata 2.0 litre that makes 276hp.  What?! Holy frijoles, I never thought Hyundai would make something with balls...nice.

Perhaps I should clarify a bit......

With the fuel pump, injectors and tune I have for the blower I can't go more than about HALF THROTTLE without the blower or I get a "CEL Light" for TOO RICH on both banks so.....I can only use about 100 HP to drive around N/A......hence a "7000# SLUG"!!!;)

But boy does it sound good and shift smooooth!!

Just like the last time, a bearing went out and it sounded like a rock polisher!! It still put the power down but could lockup or break at any moment so I decided to remove it today!!

PC guys say that I am a "benchmark" since they know of nobody that has piled the miles on like I have....I can't imagine how many revs the impeller has made since is spins 10X the crank!!!:shake:

It has also had a messy oil "weep"....not a real "leak" since it never needed topping up between 5K mile oil changes but it made an oily mess on the bottom of the blower, mounting bracket and timing cover......ugh!!:argue:

PC guys say this "weeping" is not normal but about 50% of the rebuilds "weep" a bit.....most weekend drivers and racers don't really notice it!!:shake:

Rebuild......re-install.....and we'll see how long the original motor lasts??

At 219,170 miles it still runs fine and burns no oil......AND doesn't LEAK which is AMAZING!!

Stay tuned!!;)

ProCharger went through the blower and everything was fine except for the minor leaking!!

Seems the noise I heard was the smooth idler rubbing the blower plate.....bad bearing I guess??

FedEx should have the blower back to me tomorrow!! :burnout:

200K+ miles on a stock engine?

Yes it is Dom and I don't know why I've been lucky!!

I have 136K with the ProCharger and it makes 9 to 10 PSI depending on air temps!!

This is the only car I've ever had go this far and the engine does not need oil between 5K changes!!!:bows:

When it does go BOOM......I'll fix it and go again!!:D

In all fairness....I rebuilt the trans at 160K, replaced the OEM brakes at 171K and rebuilt the rear end at 177K!!! Still running the original shocks with no leaks and they still seem OK??

Dave, if you can find a way to add boost in a can you would make millions. Holy crap someone already invented it. I believe it's called Nitrous oxide, maybe next time Dave.

Well.....BAD NEWS!!!:argue::mad2:

Got the blower back yesterday and installed it this morning.....the NOISE is not only still there but WORSE!!!:mad2:

PC said there was nothing wrong and all internals were in spec but it growls like a lion while idling.....works GREAT but something ain't right!!!:shake:

I took a video and sent it to the PC tech that helps me and I'll see what he says tomorrow??

ProCharger built a BRAND NEW blower for me and sent it to me to "try" because the nearest dealer was over 100 miles away....what a GREAT company and GREAT customer service!!!!:bows:

Got the new blower yesterday and put it on this AM....WOW....nothing but a whistle and...............ZOOM!!!!! :burnout: :D

Talked with the CS guy today and they are taking my old blower back at their expense and doing a TOTAL REBUILD.....FREE.....since they overlooked whatever it was TWO times!!!:)

Looks like I will have the new blower and a freshly rebuilt one for "backup"......or possibly for sale to someone who wants to put the bits and pieces together to make a complete system??

I cannot say enough good about the ProCharger folks or their products!!!:bows:
