My compass stopped working for a few days and now works again...anyone have this happen? I always say I don't use it but when it was out I seemed to look up there all the time. Lol.

Did you accidentally bump the buttons on the OH console, Phil? You can manually shut it off, IIRC.

That just happens to be what she said...
I have never had this happen before. My beef is that the auto dimmer for the rear view mirror doesn't work anymore.

Mine quit about a year ago and I SMACKED it and it came back on.....has worked fine ever since!!!:banana: :bows:
I read somewhere that it is a bad solder joint on the board and can be fixed easily....SMACK it first though!!

Bad soldering job in the Compass; bad soldering job in the OEM radios; where the h**l is Ford getting this electronic work done anyway? :shake:

This is what I just did to my blower control module for the interior fans. I popped the hood, tapped the BCM, and I heard it kick right on. Has worked fine for over a week now. I will eventually pull it apart and fix the bad solder joint seeing as how I live in New England and can't risk not having heat! Sounds like this car is full of bad solder joints!

That worked for me about a month then it was time for a new one. Fastblackmerc might have a repaired BCM.

I believe I can do the repair myself. I am good with electronics and took electronics classes in college. I am good with a solder gun, so I am going to try it myself. I saw the thread on it and it seems pretty straight forward.

Sounds like either a loose connection or bad solder joint somewhere. Get it to me and I'll take a look at it.

I'm confused. You talking about Phil or the compass?
