im thinking of a centrifical s/c build, im wondering if the intercooler/after cooler is effective or just not worth the space?

im thinking about building my own kit, maybe the novi 1500, or even the 2000! :flamer:

If you want a Novi, go ahead and get a kit from Dennis. His Air-air intercooled setup has the cleanest design for pipe routing of any centrifugal kit available.

Dennis also sells a non-intercooled S/C kit.

To answer the first question, yes the intercooler is effective and important. But if you can't afford the whole setup at one time you could get a non-intercooled kit then upgrade later.

The intercooler isn't needed up to a point, so it really depends on what you consider "respectable numbers"

the last build for me was my 87 turbo t regal, a stage two on center buick v6 it made 1072 hp on a single turbo, this time around im looking to make 700 horses on a fully street driven marauder

You need a built motor too then. The stockers start putting rods thru the block around 500.

Yep. 700 rwhp = Built Motor + Big Bucks

I stumbled across this some time ago and thought that it was interesting. This is a non-intercooled application.

I think the intercooler is pretty essential, especially in warmer climate racing, and especially if you are going over 700hp like you plan.
My kit is the Vortech Air to Air kit. (See my sig) I have a cooler, and was actually planning on getting a bigger one.
I'll help you anyway I can. I've come to grips pretty well w/the centi systems.

Would never run A S/C without a Intercooler just my opinion.

You can have a low 12sec MM with 10psi and a stock motor with out a whole lot of money.
If you want a MM that runs low 11's you will spend two to three times. It is the point of diminishing returns.

Good luck with your project...

Here in the islands, the inter-cooler works well...
