Does anyone know of a source of MM body panels in Canada, Ontario or the GTA?

Don't ask.

I'm looking for a grille, header panel, driver side fender and quarter panel, front and rear bumper covers.

Please, don't ask :(

The grill, frt & rear bumper covers and (maybe) the header panel are the only parts that are Marauder-specific. The fender & quarter panel are either GM or CV pieces.

We won't, but you still know we're concerned. :depress:

Sorry to hear about the car, i don't know of any places in ontario that have mm parts. Best bet would be ebay either way it won't be cheap. Let us know if you decide to part with her.

The fender & quarter panel are either GM or CV pieces.

I thought these both had rolled/flattened wheelwell edges/lip, done special for the Marauder - the GM and CV pieces aren't rolled.

My rear quarter panals are rolled, i know the older aero body style cv's / mgm's arn't. You can use cv or 2003+ mgm fenders, might have to get different side molding though.

So, I'm facing a couple of choices. The body shop guy wants to fix the car, but it's going to be a lot of $$$ - more than the insurance co. will be willing to pay. He is willing to submit a minimal claim amount in order to get the ins. to go along with the repairs rather than an all-out claim which would most certainly result in a write-off. With the minimal claim, I'd have to supply some of my own parts and/or cash to make up the difference.
The car has a lot of mileage on it, but is virtually rust-free and still runs like a champ.
What would you do? Get the car fixed, with the risk that it's probably not going to be as good as it was before, or call it a write-off and take the money?

If the damage to the frame is minor, I'd fix it. There are usually parts cars advertised here, or around north America you should be able to get the body panels and bumper moldings from.

The body shop guy is able to source most of the parts needed, though many are aftermarket.
I'd have to pay a few grand out-of-pocket though, to cover the difference between an acceptable claim and the actual cost of repairs.

Could always buy it back from the insurance company and part it out if it's a write off.

I would personally avoid aftermarket parts. Stick with OEM for it's fit and engineering.

Makes me :mad2::mad2::mad2: that the insurance company wants to write it off for this amount of damage!

And how much money have you paid them over the years?!?!?! :mad2:

That would be my thought too. I'd be leery of aftermarketers getting lazy and classifying the Marauder as having the same parts as a GM or CV. At least with a parted out car, you know they are OEM and will fit perfectly.

Well, some good news - the ins. is going to pay for the repairs :]
