I am looking at tires and want to make sure they will work with 9 inch wheels incase I upgrade in the spring. That pushes me to 245 or 255 in the front. I have 255 in the rear already, so I am not worried about the front wider than the rear. I also dont have traction control, so no worries there.

Any one have experience with these?

I ran 255/45 for a long time, no real issues. Only reason I switched back was because I could get a better tire for less money in 235/50

I'm running 255/45 General Exclaim UHP on the fronts. They are a Summer Only tire though.

I would like to see a picture of the 255s on the front, if anyone could cough one up. Yeah, I could search, but I'm feeling pretty lazy today...

I have 285s on the rear, and was thinking about going up to 255s for the front.

Not trying to look a gift horse in the mouth, but do you have any shots with better angles (side or front 3/4 angle)? I can't really get a feel for what it looks like with the 255s on the front...

You would like the way they look especially with your wide rears already. I have 265/50 for my rears.

I probably will like them, but I can't commit to them unless I see them. If I don't, I'll just end up going 235s again (which is fine).

Check the MDSS Fall dyno meet thread, there is a few picture of my car in there but maybe not enough of a good angle.

that's the only angle I could find honestly where you can tell it's a wider tire, my sig pic is the same tire. With the size and shape of the car you really can't tell that there is a wider tire on the front.

If you are thinking that they will be larger in diameter when looking at them from the side that isn't the case at all 255/45 almost exactly the same as 235/50

Running a 255/45/18 fits great.

I'm putting on 255/45 front and 275/45 rear tomorrow. Continental Extreme Contact DW. Has anyone had any issues with vibration running wider than rim tires? I had a Thunder Chicken SC that had major vibration issues when I put on larger than rim tires.

I have done larger-than-rim tires on the back of my Marauder, as well as all the way around on my Magnum. No issues. Actually, on the Magnum, the ride quality improved a BUNCH.

I run 255/45 up front and 295/45 out back--

the 255 up front are best I think -makes a much larger path/grip on the road and the feel is like an upgraded sway bar before you do it--you won't likely go back--try it--t

I would suggest checking to see if the tires support the 8 inch wheel. I am looking at the Continential Extereme Contact DWS tires, and the 275s I see need a 8.5 or 9 inch rim width minimum.

Just remember, you'll have more sidewall wabble, and the centers will wear out REALLY fast.
