I apparently got some light, "overspray" inside my car from my fix. How I suspect this is there is a slight, gritty feeling on my "carbon fiber" trim, the plexi covering the speedo/tach gauges and the radio. You can't see it, but you can barely feel it.

My question is...does anyone see any problems or affects if I carefully wipe/remove this with some sort of mineral spirits/thinner/etc.?

Or...what would you recommend otherwise?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I wouldn't do mineral spirits on the gauge cluster "glass." I believe that'd scratch it up to no end...

If it's light enoph, why not try just cleaning it with soap and water a few times and see if it doesn't just wear itself off?

Clay bar? Zayno Bro's Claybar may work.

Todd, a big NO to the spirits/thinner. Try some Meguiar's Plastic Cleaner. It will clean it up.

PS-one thing that Zaino is missing is products that will repair problems. Their products, for the most part, assume that you are working with perfect or almost perfect paint.

Meguires Plastic cleaner #17.

Anything else will scratch it.

I had some bad scratches on the clear instrument cluster and thought I had to buy a new one.

Got the Meguires #17 and it took them out and made the plastic as clear as water.

It is an amazing product.

Meguire's should do the trick. Otherwsie, call me and I will send you some marine plastic cleaner which works well. Also, you might want to consider using Dave (Agent)'s son.

Thanks to all of you. Zaino does have a plastic cleaner Z-14...I just had not ordered it before.

I hope the cleaner will get out the overspray. In fact...I think it's more like overspray of clearcoat rather than color.

A big NO to mineral spirits/thinner.
Try Windex...almost as good as Vaseline!
