How much difference is there from CV taillights?

I know Marauder taillights are darker than Crown Vic taillights, but how much? Is it even noticable?

Yes, the MM taillights are tad darker than CV ones and it is noticable- atleast to me. But not by a whole lot, though. But what percentage it is, I have no idea. Can't be a lot or it wouldn't pass DOT from the factory.

The internal non-reflective plastic parts of the taillights is tinted or painted black on MMs..where it is left reflective on Crown Vics..similarly how the headlights of a grand marquis are all chrome, where the Marauder only has the reflective part chromed.

As other have mentioned ... It IS noticable. *Though easily remedied with Night Shades tint.

That and than the P71 taillights, the other Crown Victoria models are 4bulb and not 2bulb like the Marauders'.

As an FYI ... The black trim taillights of the LX Sport ( P74 ) have the amber turnsignal portion of the lens and are 4bulb.

Only for the BLACK, SILVER FROST, DARK TOREADOR / MATADOR RED, DEEP WEDGEWOOD BLUE / DARK BLUE PEARL - 2001-3, MIDNIGHT GRAY / TUNGSTEN - 2005-6, DRIFTWOOD BEIGE - 2007

All others are not monochromatic. *MEANING: Chrome trim.

I pulled 3 sets from a 03 cop car an 04 and an 06 all were 2 bulbs and looked exactly the same as the marauder, could tell no difference at all.

The think the outside lense is tinted, not the inside. But maybe I am wrong.

Here's the breakdown of amber and solid red taillights for everyone.

*1998-1999: All model CVs came with amber/red lenses. But late 1999, CVPIs started coming in all red.

*2000+ current: Only CVPIs got all red tailights, with the exception of thoses ordered with the Street Appereance Package, they were amber/red like the civilian moldels. Civilian models still had amber/red lights up 'til the end of the 2003 production.

*2004+ current: All model CVs came with solid red lights.

Yessir. The interior of the lamp is darker, the lens itself is physically the same.
