Went to Excessive Motorsport in Manassas, VA this morning to get dyno tuned.
Final numbers are 289hp/313tq. Also running Z-tune Version 2.0. Tires can break loose a whole lot quicker and overall drives a lot stronger now.

The dyno sheet is set to Standard, you may not be aware of this, and they are good numbers, but it should be SAE if it was the car would be making about 10 less RWHP, I am dynoing Levi's car tomorrow. I will post both STD and SAE and you can see the difference, and I will post a video and the data log, again congrats on the tune the A/F is perfect.

If I didn't have the drive back I would of shot the shyt with Torey all day. lol
Torey was soooo tempting me to buy the Cobra sb and eaton parts they had.
If DR didn't sell me the used SF device in place of a brand new Xcal2 it would of saved Chris time on trying to get things started, but he finally got it all squared away.

SAE= 281.48rwhp/304.86rwtq?
Nice run! I'm not bashing, just curious about the std vs. sae debate. Need to see some new 1/4 mile #'s!

Went to Excessive Motorsport in Manassas, VA this morning to get dyno tuned.

They are actually in Manassas Park, VA .... right across the tracks from the VRE station.

Manassas Park is a separate incorporated city with its own city council, schools, fire department, etc.

You should have let me know you were gonna be in the area. I could have linked up. Its only about 14 miles away for me. Of course, I would have had to take off of work. I was looking for an excuse today. ;)

Oh I know you're not bashing. I want to see some new 1/4 mile numbers myself!! lol

Either way if you were to put Manassas in you GPS it would still take you to the same spot. Just like where I live is in Eldersburg city limits but mailing is considered Sykesville when it is just a few miles down the road.

Next time I go down I'll give you a heads up Charlie

So you went to the dyno to change something in Zacks tune? If so what did they work on just dialing in the AF ratio? Did they do any timing changes?

I remember Eldersburg when it was not much more than an intersection of Route 26 and 32. I think that the traffic light there was the only one in the area and it was on permanent "blink" cycle.

My aunt used to live in an apartment above a Chevrolet dealer there in the '50s and '60s. There was a small shopping center there with a drug store. Lots of farms. Seemed like it took forever to come out Liberty Road to get there.

JDM set my engine at 22 degrees and then re-mapped the fuel. Then he raised my shift points up a touch and worked my lock-up schedule. My only complaint is that he left the idle just a little low and that my shift pressure is a bit too high at light throttle.

Overall the car drives a lot stronger, easily get tire spin and shifts are firmer than before.

I live basically off 26 about two miles west of the 26 and 32 intersection. I remember the stories my mom would tell me about how some main roads were just plain dirt roads.

Ive NEVER been able to squeeze 22 degrees of timing in any Marauder ive ever touched.
You are on the ragged RAGGED edge

You can put 22 degrees, hell even 24 degrees of timing in on a dyno, but that just is TOO MUCH when the car is on the street under load.
Its your car, dont lose another engine.

Its not pinging and he put in a lot of fuel. They are forged pistons in there as well.
He builds these engines all the time and he said 22-24 degrees is what they run at maximum. He played with the tables and its running really strong with no noises.

What do you suggest?

22 degrees of timing is a lot. I do not see how this can be done other than on race gas, and even then I am not sure if that would make peak power, at some point you can add all you want with in reason, and car will not make any more power, and on a stock motor this would be nuts.
Here is value file for race gas on a N/A Marauder and even with a built motor it still is a lot of timing.

OK so how about instead of telling me how bad it is, why not tell me what the safe amount of timing is so I can call my tuner and have it adjusted.

Geez this should not be done from a telephone, it should be done on the dyno, you should have one tune for pump gas and one for race gas, the car should be dyno tuned for both, if you have a good street tune it is normally safe to add 3/4 degrees globally on race gas. But again if possible you want to dyno the car with race gas and you normally add till it stops making power, with race gas you are unlikely to have detonation. That is why it is always a good thing to run some on a stock motor at the track if you are on the edge, its a must for high boost and max power.

We ran the car on the dyno 5 times. No ping no noises, then we took the car out and it had a ping on the high end of 1-2 shift then some ping on the 2-3 shift. He adjusted accordingly til there was no ping. I driven the car everyday since the dyno tune with no pings and its running very strong. He put in a race gas tune and adjusted the maps and bumped up the timing just a touch. Im reading that the Mach1 guys run 21-25 degrees of timing, I have even read some running 28 degrees. My question is then what degree should I safely run? 20?
