Hay guys!
I ran Maxton yesterday (10-30-2010). Because of rookie orientation, motorcycle riders down and a big turnout I only got 2 runs in.....was hoping for 4 runs. The car run 134.8 MPH on its first pass with the OD on and the grill closed off 3/4. Then 136.9 MPH with OD off and the grill fully closed. My on board GPS based data system showed me at 139.9 MPH before I got out out of the throttle before the traps. I was limited to 135 MPH (no rollbar) and at 140 I would get thrown out so I played by the rules. My 3.55 gears were it it so I didn't run out of motor at the top end. Pictures and timeslips on MM.net this week.
I had a lot of positive comments on the car and the sound of the exhaust. Keith, the event organizer really was excited to see the car run. I even kicked a modified 80's something Camaros ass. (LS1 engine with a megasquirt system) The Marauder ran great and drove like you were on the interstate....real stable. It was a blast!
Now I am motivated to work like a dog to get my Bonneville car done so I can go to Maxton next year and run really fast!
Cheers!
