It figures the warranty was up a couple of months ago and now I have a knock in the motor,sounds like a collapsed lifter...:mad2: Any one else have an issue? Just hit 60.000 miles!

Yeah sounds like the Lifter, happened to me around 45k but I used warranty.

Well I found out today from dealer that motor has to come out to determine what exactly is wrong,at this point they think its a wristpin or the piston is slapping the cylinder wall.If motor needs replaced I c Lidio stroker going in mmmmmmmm!

Sounds exactly like what I had go wrong in my engine.
Does this sound familiar?

C6dW3VFhm9o Pretty darn close but yours sounds worse! Mine is drivers side all the way in back.

does it go away when warm? i have a knock not nearly as bad as blackened300a but i haven't been able to pinpoint it exactly. it is also coming from back left (#8 cyl)

oh i no. the plan is to drive it until somthing blows. then park it and save for a terminator engine.

Yes it went away after a couple seconds,that is what made me think it was a lifter...
We started up our Mark8 with a cobra motor and it had a knock in it. We changed the oil and the noise started for a few seconds then went away. It never came back since. We are still not sure what it was or if the oil change helped. :confused:

1st thing I checked was oil it was good...

Just found out that number 8 cylinder trashed the cylinder walls and that number 6 is just starting the same thing!

Welcome to my world. Mine was #2. If they can't cut it then you'll have to get a sleeve. Might be cheaper to find a new engine.

They are just like a lifter only they dont move....just a hydraulic device that keeps the followers where they need to be.

Yes is will but you will need a return fuel system and a stand alone controller for the 4r70w.

I knew there HAD to be a catch that it would not be plug and play. But, it doesn't sound too bad, if you know how to do it.

The factory PCM and wiring would need to be scrapped.
It would be quite involved.

I went to see the motor yesterday its already out of the car,saw the damage on the cylinder walls and shavings in the oil. Now the banks are a :mad2: joke I have been to 6 already and not one will come off a cent to help me out! I shove down there throat how my money and yours helped them out,and now they wont help me,ass holes :mad2:!!!!!!!!!!

You wont believe this, I gave the dealer the go ahead to fix my car. Now they wont help on cost and now they tell me there are no replacement motors anywhere in the USA! What the HELL! :mad2: This is really becoming a joke!

Mark, I think you should take your car out of there and find a local place you can trust to drop a replacement engine in. You can find the engine rather cheap and then let them do the labor of replacing it. I think thats your cheapest and easiest way out. Im worried you're going to get dragged over the coals by the dealership.

My cousin is the Service manager,so I am good there.I checked a local speed shop here and it would be 7500 dollars if I go that rout I will c a Lidio stroker motor go in believe me...

Theres a salvage yard near Toledo that has 2 Mach1 motors.. Intake to oil pan.. I think he wants $2000.00 each. Sell the Mach1 intake for $500 and you only in it for $1500.00
