how much faster would my marauder turn in the 1/4 mile just by putiing 4.11's in it? its stock right now other than high perfoarmance K&N air filter LOL. but i wanna make it faster and thought this was the cheapest and easiest way of turning a better time at the strip. so what times would a stock MM with 4.11's run? ive seen people say a stock MM can turn mid 14's, so would this put me in the high 13's? or would getting a 100 shot be a better route?

Gears will net you a couple tenths in 1/4 mile. 100 shot should net you a full second.
I know some have gotten away with out a re-tune but I think it would be wise to do so.

I went nitrous on my old one. What a blast. TQ went from 287ish to 437.

The gears are 4.10's, not 4.11's.

Gears alone won't get you into the 13's. You'll need some forced induction.

Tune, intake, stall converter and 4.10 gears should get you into the 13's if all the planets are aligned right in your favor.

Don't forget U/D pulleys and headers...

Mid 14 second Marauders are factory freaks or have a tune. 4.10 improve the drivability of the car all around. 100 shot is just fun until the tank runs out. Ive seen too many scary videos of nitrous gone wrong so be sure your tune is dead on.

I ran a best of 14.59 with a tune and 4.10's see sig.

Seeing others cars with tune 4.10's, long tubes and a converter and labor to install said parts will put you into the 13's but such a setup will not be cheap or easy.

A 100 shot would put you into the low 13's most wet kits are $550-$650 can get into the $1000ish realm one you start adding bottle heater, blow down tube & purge kit. If you mostly just cruise around not a lot of WOT action and can accept the car will only be fast along as the bottle is full and when you get out of the car run to the trunk open the bottle make a pull and close the bottle after the pull(Nitrous is leaky) you could always get a remote bottle opener for @ another $250 it is cheaper and easier.

That's true, also firms up the shifts which makes the car feel more sportier.

Just get a tuner and 4.10 gears for now and see where you are at.

4.10 gears
xCal tuner loaded with a tune from one of our vendors
U/D pulleys

You want more than 20-25 HP gain, be prepared to spend some bucks.

Headers and high flow exhaust ($750 to $1,500)

or just spring the bigs bucks for supercharging. ($3,000 and up)

to the 13's :nos: would be cheaper.

Hope fully some of our nitrous nuts will chime in I'd tell you to search past threads but the search feature sucks. Off the top of my head talk to Racer X

Using a aggressive NA tune with nitrous will not end well for your engine also how is the guy? Think back to the video but instead of blowing the intake off you will blow the rods out the side of the engine or melt the piston. You will need pull timing it would be best to run the stock OEM tune and get a wideband to verify AF ratio. Or better yet get 2 tunes one for NA and a Nitrous specific dyno tune.

haha yeah id love to get supercharged, but can a stock motor handle a supercharger?

thnx alot for the advice, but nos does make me nervous, and would it be harder on the motor than just saving up and getting a supercharger?

Ask me in two weeks... :D

Actually, if the car is properly tuned, and the fuel system is upgraded to provide adequate fuel, a stock motor shouldn't have any problems handling 450+ rwhp.

Never heard of them but the new exhaust muffler addiction is Aero Turbine mufflers.
