This is what I was thinking back in Sept of '02 after about 1000 miles on my MM.
I do wish to improve low end torque to where at least it spins the tires from dead stop and goes 0-60 under 7. My objective is not to build a race car, but a so call muscle car that cannot spins the rear tires, that is a bitter disapointment. Your advise is greatly appreciated. Smokie

Boy oh Boy what a difference 15 months make!!!
Notice that my expectations were not really that unreasonable.
So were am I today ? At 11,000 miles and reflashed PCM.
Burning rubber any time I feel like it
Low end torque=Head snapping launches and WOT shifts.
0-60= Estimated between 6 to 6.5 seconds.
Everything that I hoped for, the car has achieved or exceeded.
Bonus Extra= Making great new friends.
This car has provided me and my wife far more than I could have ever imagined or hoped for. Thank you Logan and all my new friends. Javier.

Yeah, me too. It's been a strange year all right.

Looking back from today, I am amazed by my behavior, this wasn't me before my first MM. I've been twisted too.

I have come to own two of these bad beauties in one year.

I've driven more highway in the last year than my previous 20 years.

I explored this country in my youth, drove all around it to where I believed I knew what it all looked like, and I have believed that ever since. But, I started all over again anyway, just to see that someone built us a new US of A while I napped through my 30s and 40s.

I've met more new friends too, and to that same scale. I have made more close friends this past year than I ever expected to have at age 53.

Guys my age in my office talk a lot. They talk about dinner with their relatives on holidays, and how great that day was because no one has issues. They talk about their "old partners," as if the partner grew old, but they haven't. They talk about how great the '70s were, how they used to take down high speed chases, kick down doors, "hit a flat looking for the stick-up man" and so on.

So on about how great everything was, back then, while they also arrange and agree to meet each other at retirement parties and wakes.

They talk about their grandkids and their grand houses, their new deck and if they should try DSL or not. "What does XP stand for anyway?"

Now there's me among them. Yeah, I was here before, but not like I am here among them today, and they wonder what's wrong with me, perhaps wish they could get this sick too.

In this past year, I bought a new MM, loved it, and sold it. I took a dollar hit but that helped me buy another "used" MM. And a great MM it is too.

I drove this used MM to TX, then PA, then GA, with half a dozen one-day drives to IN and MI thrown in.

I drive it 30 miles from home to eat a cheeseburger in a road house famous for it's superb fried chicken, but I am 20 paces from real Route 66 pavement, and among MM family.

I wear a baseball cap now. It's got flames on it and I wear it backwards sometime too. The only other hat I own is my service lid and I have confused them. If the Deputy Chief can't take a joke, ****** him, let him write me up.

I bring my MM to the airport when I'm to pick up someone special visiting here, and they get to drive her from there, until they drive her back there.

I met a guy who owns an MM, but his is sealed in a bag, like it's going to be some kind of heavy time capsule. I also met a guy who isn't afraid of anything MM. This guy is ready and willing to peel off sheet metal, and unscrew, or, unbolt everything on my MM, just to get down to "how did they do this?"

I've met people who know their *****, and people who don't know *****, but believe they do.

I'm not sure which camp my tent resides in, but my dealership just sent me an invite to their employee Xmas party, hope I get a slow dance with that tall redhead who sends me the sales data...Oops, I didn't say that, nevermind...

Yes, I am involved with this automobile on many levels, and none of it is a "no strings" relationship. My co-workers believe I've "gone over" to the other side. I wonder over where, what?

Maybe I have. Maybe I'm gone. But, this trip has been worth it, this year of discovery is really priceless in my life. I have met and made a few very close and dear friends here. Friends I never before believed I deserved to have. Yes, thank you Logan, and thank you Mary, Marty, Todd, Bob, Jean, Zack oh Jeeze...I can't name you all!

But, if you have met me face to face, you're on my list, and I thank you for the joy you have given me this past year.

RWHP? ET? Beat this...

Sarge,..
Great post! even though I may be...one of those.. "I've met people who know their ***** and people who don't know *****, but believe they do".. I probably fit into the the I don't know their ***** category .. lol.. well I'll admit it,.. I didn't ... and I'm no expert by any means,.. BUT,. I'm learning,.. thanks to you,... and so many I couldn't ever name them all!

he he,.. I went out and spent over 700 bucks on a Garmin Street Pilot 3 .. just because YOU said it was good.. well,.. it made sense to me. You may the the most unbiased person I ever met! Well,. in regards to the MM anyway! lol.

I'm not trying to kiss your ass,... Just stating the facts. I read your posts,.. and, I've grown to respect your opinion.

We all have alot in common,... we love our Marauders. PERIOD!

We've met briefly before,.. at Ennis. I don't know of you remember,.. I asked about the SP3.

Thank you for your long rambling posts! I hope you realize how many of us respect and have grown to love those unique responses!

Once again ... not to kiss your ass,... just to say .. Thanks!!! you check ALL the angles.

Sarge:

Very well said and stated. I can relate to alot of what you wrote. My MM has been a real pleasure to me. I grew very bored with driving. It took me a whole year to finally deceide to buy a MM. I sold my mint 1995 EB Bronco to buy the MM. Now I am going to sell my rare 1964 Fairlane Sports Coupe factory 289 Hipo "K" car (black/black of course) plus a truck load of spare parts to finance more mods on my MM. D.R. E/S and T/C are next in line in January.

Hey Mac-

Well- I must say meeting you in Altlanta was great for me and I must further say --I was the last person to drive your MM with "the other exhaust " before your new installation--and man what a ride!!..from the light--you said..me driving...go.man go..don't let Todd get ahead of you...and I punch the big bad # 1 and got squirrily thru the intersection onward and onway thru that curved street ahead like it wasn't there---Practically had to peel my grin off the both side windows!!!--Yeah--my past year too has been just another life all together---

Thats just one of so many experiences..just hope they keep on coming---Thanks Mac for all your insight and fun !!

I think I'm about to have car that will be a close relative in kind to yours-- --Tom

When I bought the Ranger (the commuter truck) someone at work asked me if I was going to sell the Marauder. I told them I couldn't because the only people I like to hang out with drive them. I've never really been the social type but I always look forward to our MM gatherings. Weird, huh?
Sarge and I met for about 30 seconds in Ennis- he couldn't spot me in a line up. When I was thinking of a particular project- I emailed him and got a 20 minute phone call full of sage advice. You can't find that just anywhere. Good people live here.

Mac, you have inspired me to add my 2 cents. Before the Marauder, I was a happily retired airline pilot who ran around the country participating in antique airplane fly-ins for over 20 years and enjoying driving Grand Marquis w/ perf and handling packages. I was very active with the airline retiree groups---when I got into the Marauder group, I suddenly realized that I wasn't old enough to be running with those old farts--since I have had my Marauder, I have had more fun, met more great people, enjoyed more gatherings and just plain enjoyed life more than I have in a long time---I'm drag racing !!!!! Never dreamed I'd ever do that--been a NASCAR nut for 40 years---enjoy this group more--more personal and rewarding. In other words, I have realized you are only as old as you feel and the people you associate with can definitely affect your outlook on life and make you feel YOUNG. THANKS for a great time--- looking forward to 2004 with great anticipation--hope to see a lot of you at Marauderville 2004, no matter where it is.....Happy New Year !!!!!!!!!!!!! Maury

I have posted a few times and really enjoy this site. I have had my Marauder for about 4 weeks. It is great (ugly in snow, as expected) My 16 year old daughter says that I have hit my mid-life crisis - I agreed and said that I want it to last for 50 years.

I am thinking about going to Indy this summer. Thinking also about gear and chip upgrades.
