Like the rest of the panther platform -- Unchanged.

Probably just the electronics would be different/upgraded, i.e. Sync, Nav, Stereo. Maybe HID headlights, but I would imagine the overall package would be very much the same as the original.

Different color for each of the previous years. More stock power and a supercharger option.

Realistically, if it were to be re-designed it would most probably share the taurus/mks chassis and body with subtle differences, but maybe offering the new 5.0 engine with only RWD.

Maybe they would have pushed forth with the 5.4L Interceptor concept for the new Marauder.

It would be called it TAURUS with the Marauder upgrade package. Price would be over 55,000.00

They would have eliminated the painted plastic pieces, added a trip computer with mpg, dte, etc., added navigation and made a supercharger optional.
Also, they would have fired whoever was reponsible for the paint process and made gun metal gray an available color.
In 05 we were supposed to see the factory S/C version of the marauder.
Im sure it would of had a more aggressive look to differentiate between STOCK and S/C.

I had a 2011 GM rental a couple weeks ago. Only differences I noted was a cruise control icon in the instrument panel to indicate when cruise was on, and the grille bars were thicker and spaced further apart.

All I know is that it would most likely cost a pretty penny!

Well since Mercury will not exsist soon... Maybe they would rename the ford falcon bring it to america put the 5.0 in it with a supercharger option and it would only be available in black "like all serious cars should be". Speaking of which and not to change the subject is anyone here in the process of putting the 5.0 in there Marauder?

I believe Steve Babcock said that they were plaining to redesign the front seats to have more side bolster and bigger front break rotors.

I would own a convertible. Only if it were a real convertible though, not some cowl shaking coachwork hack.

For some reason I would still want it to be a 4 door though... The dad in me... maybe because of 4 door Lincoln convertibles. Suicide the rears while you're at it Mercury. Mercury... hellooo... where'd ya go?

The grille and bulged(bug eyed) park/corner lights appeared in '06, along with a std tach also the trunk reflector panels changed to clear... The '09-'11 also has push/pull window switches and there's a little red dot in the cluster that lights when a door is open(not sure when that was added), otherwise they are basically same as my '07 which is similar to my Marauder... The '11 also have a fuel mileage readout that isn't on my '07 but was probably optional... At least those are the differences I noted on the rental 2011 I had back in Sept...

I've seen MGMs around locally with rectangular driving lights where our round ones are.

Yeah I believe those were std on LS models a couple years back, they were blocked off on the '11 LS rental and on my '07 GS... When I bought the year old '07, all the '08 LS on the lot appeared to have them, but were blocked off on GS... If there were differences in '07 to '08, I never did see them...

I'd like to hope that the Marauder (with some real advertising) would have been around as is for the base model or as the first upgrade trim level to the Grand Marquis but the S-55/X-100 option for the performance enhancements like a bigger engine or supercharger to really stir some excitment and respect. Would have loved to even see the eco-boost in it had the car made it this far. The Chargers would have had some real competition out here.
I'd buy an Interceptor and would like to see what a Mercury Marauder version would have looked like if that came to be. Would love to see a more retro front to match the other retro hints. Plus a normal interior versus the one I saw on the Interceptor concept.
Most likely however, it would have recently become the Mercury version of the new Taurus SHO. Therefore shedding its image of big old school American muscle in a with the modern panther look. In that case, I wouldn't want a new one.

Close. It is called MK-S, with a red "S" courtesy of the $3k Ecoboost appearance package. Blacked-out everything. Graphite dash panel (sound familiar?). Package-only shiney wheels & bigger meats. Sticker $57,560.

Are you sure it was a 2011? the rental package cars (with blacked out cardboard/plastic where the fog lights would have been on the LS retail 200 cars, last ones produced a few weeks ago),
The fleet package 100 models, taxi and CVPI ones are still being built until the end of this year when the STAP factory closes for good.

The same, except they would all be blue just for the sheer awesomeness factor.
