My tranny is completely stock, and still doing fantastic. Never slips, never failed. I'm sure it's going to get sick of the 1.7 launches, redline running, hard shifting, and 11 second 1/4 miles. What can i do to beef it up? Better yet, is there a bolt-up tranny that will behave just like stock but will endure the abuse. My plans are to make this a 10 second car.
I've searched but come up with no real difinitive answers.
Thanks in advance.

As-is do a J-Mod

For 10 second beatings you will need a professional shop to do the trans...

Heat kills transmission life. Change fluid more often, pan drop clean magnet more often, put it on a severe schedule - add in a trans cooler. Long coolers are good stuff, I got the "mini max" 22,000 btu I think.

Also Darrin at bc-automotive.com can build you one.

With all due respect, if that is what you are hearing then you are talking to someone who isn't speaking accurately. LOL

But, since you brought it up, can you tell me about these "horror stories"? I would like to talk specifics including customer names and who it was that told you this?

I would think this was relevant information that would help me, considering that I posted that I NEEDED HELP.
So I can't post a link to Mickey Thompson, Goodyear, or a dealership because they aren't a vendor? This happens everyday here. WTF is going on????????

Not stirring the pot here, I'm just VERY curious as to why this occurred. Thanks.

The one that has 100 miles on it? The one I had built and got you signed up here to make a ton of sales for you to turn around and sh#t on me?

That one?

Not stirring the pot here, I'm just VERY curious as to why this occurred. Thanks. It occurred because a link was made to a non-supporting vendor that supplies the same services as a supporting vendor. Posting a link to Mickey Thompson is not a problem as we don't have a supporting vendor whose sole business is selling tires.

So talking about excessive motorsports tuning the entire east coast is ok right?
The fact the OP has a link to a non-supporting vendor is ok?

...but no one can make an alternative suggestion to get a transmission, that is coincidentally right in the OP's backyard.

This site is about dollar signs, not helping anymore.

Zack, the angel that you are, continue to sound like a broken record. It's about fairness, plain and simple.

If there are links that need to be reviewed, we will do so.

Really? Darrin built my trans, I have had -0- problems. I had one issue, it was a noise that myself nor anyone in my area could pin down. Everyone including myself, thought it to be the trans., I called Darrin, on a Friday around 2:30 in the afternoon.

His response.... "can you get the car to me tonight?", I am 2+ hours from him. I got there a touch after 5PM that night, we spent a bit of time trying to track down the problem, which had nothing to do with the transmission itself. His charge to me -$0-, plus I jacked up his Friday night, not to mention his wife's and kid's.

To hear people bad mouth someone because they had a problem with them, ask yourself, what was the root cause of you having an issue with that person. Just because you had a problem doesn't mean his transmissions are junk, it just means that 2 people didn't see eye to eye.

It is to bad and kinda sucks they are both very good people and willing to help Darrin spent a whole day trying to help with another members car I drove to Indy for, His charge was very minimal! Then on the other hand Zack he didnt have to share his Eaton knowledge along with all other kinds of knowledge he shared with the whole site. I think in certain ways there are both assests to this site. Zack has answred so may questions in PM's to him I lost count I would have to say alot of other people would have gotten Iriate. SO A HUGE THANK YOU TO ZACK!!

Again Darrin I run his product and love it. Just do youre homework and do what you think is right!!

I have to jump in to say I have had good luck with my Darrin-built & installed transmission, high RPM TC, and trans oil cooler. I also have to thank Zack for a numnber of favors & help recommending a tuner, racing my car, & supplying parts. Both these guys to me have been more helpful than some of the big names, mouths, & posters that I have encountered here. So before you go out to bad mouth someone, ask what you have done lately for one of our members.

Or just order a whole, built transmission from Dennis. I have over 43K miles, all supercharged (445 rwhp) on a trans from Dennis with no problems at all. And since I bought the car with less than 10K miles on it, I have driven the snot out of it!
I am very happy with it. Firm, fast shifts, runs cool (has deep sump pan with trans temp guage), shifts great - up and down - no delays.

Yes, Dennis can sell you a great transmission too. If you ask nicely then he might sell you one like he runs in his own car ;)

To prevent any misunderstanding, I am not at all joking or anything like that at all with what I posted there. You want a transmission like is in Dennis' car. In my opinion that transmission was built by the best in the business.

My car has a tranny built by Darrin with a extra tranny cooler. I also had my car tuned at Excessive Motorsports and recommends anyone in the DC MD VA surrounding areas to go there for any and all tuning needs.

I meant to add I have had zero problems with it. This tranny runs great.
