I am thinking of repainting my 04 Black MM. Possibly two-tone.
Looking for suggestions from the community on what would look nice.
Links to pics would be helpful, but just suggetions of color combos are good too.
Thanks in advance.

random thought, try drafting up something like an homage paint job to the old Mercury muscle cars, like the two tones on the cylcone gurney or yarborough specials.

It may (read: probably will) look terrible, but it's a thought to play with.

Could someone please P-shop this onto a new Panther? It might look hilarious and/or awesome. Probably not, though.

Take a look at some Foose cars. He comes up with same good combos.

^^Nice, all day long^^

Thanks!

So of the technical advantages of this scheme were that the car stays base black. No need to spray under-hood or door jambs or trunk jambs. It's a black car. The Yarborough/Gurney style stripe breaks the two tone in a convenient place so it didn't have to get all complicated with the front parts. It maintains the sinister 'all black' bada$$ look from the front.

I chose the green because of the color the dash bits light up. The silver is obviously after the SB cars.

Since it's a double stripe, I considered using an orange and a green due to the dash's needles being orange. I also considered breaking into the MARAUDER stylized word logo on the rear quarter within the stripe.

As custom paint jobs go, this wasn't bad. It took 27 ours in the booth, but we baked after every color and after the clear.

I also considered incorporating all the stock colors. Blue line - red line - silver bottom or silver line, red line, blue bottom.

Windsor58, You expressed interest in my car before, so if you dig it, copy away! Choose the colors you like best!

Yeah I always liked the color combo, and your tire/rim combo is one of the best. I thought you had sold it tho? Or did you contemplate it?

Thanks!

Thanks for the suggestions.
And, Rich, yours was the inspiration for a possible two-tone. I had thought of the advantages you mention of keeping one color black. You have a great looking car there, but I wouldn't want to copy it (you can't beat the original). Just use it for inspiration.

Contemplated it for some time. Things got better.

I actually think that would be a phenomenal line break color between the black and silver. It can be pulled off, too I think since the orange gauge needles.

OTOH - imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

I have unfortunately seen a few cars locally 'copy' it. Green line and all. And from what I understand Will Castro on Unique Whips copied it onto a Chrysler 300 for some football player - green line and all.

Magindat - that is why I would rather consider it inspiration, rather than a knock off. No matter how nice it is executed, it would still be your colors. I really do like them though. I even thought of swapping the silver and the black, but then you run into the underlying color issues with door jams, trunk, etc.

Brreze - NICE CAR!. You won't miss that in the parking lot. I have liked the multi-color paints for a while, now. Several years ago, I spent way too much ($3500/gal comes to mind - just to prove how crazy I was...) on a purple accent line that changed color when the light hit it. The other colors were a custom cream and a custom purplish-tan color (I know sounds wierd, but it came out nice).
