Geico themselves doesn't fix it. They have contracted body shops. :P Do you know a good shop yourself? If not then let them do it, they have a very good warranty on workmanship if you use one of their locations.

Sorry for your misfortune.

And to think people still like to make fun because I don't drive in the rain.

At least it's not totaled.

Get a quote from a FLM dealer. Geico is discount insurance, they have a tendency to cut corners.

I have to ask - how worn are your tires? You are not running almost bald factory tires on that are you? Many that have had a problem in the rain have also had very low tread.

I hope it works out!

So much for "cash money" huh? Go buy some new tires and be thankful that your not hurt.

I have a good friend that has a body shop in Baltimore. Hit me up for his info. I work the westside of Baltimore...

I wouldn't tell/show the insurance company the tires - if they notice them badly worn it will be negligent on your part and no money for repairs.

Per Maryland Insurance law you have the right to take your vehicle to wherever you want to have the body work done. Geico will recommend places that work closely with them as part of their workmanship guarantee warranty for as long as you own the vehicle.

At least that's all the damage and you weren't badly injured or anyone else was.

You need to find a good collision shop with a rack puller and a long term experienced collision person who knows how to use it. The only way to fix that right is to pull it back into shape. It WILL go. Don't ask me how I know...

I second this. They will accept the insurance quote and offer a similar if not same guarantee.

So sorry for your bad luck, just glad you weren't hurt. We have Geico and the wife has had occasion to use them twice for repairs on her Altima and both times the repairs have been top notch and she has metallic paint and they have done a good job.

Sorry about the accident. I went through a Geico shop a few years back and had nothing but issues. Body work was great but they over looked several mechanical issues. I was able to get some fixed through the shop.

I was reimbursed after I found and fixed several issues with the suspension and brakes that the shop missed. I took some complaining, talking with regional management, and providing service records to get them to cover what the shop missed.

Geico do well with my daughters car. A really good job. It all depends on which Geico repair affiliate is doing the repairs.

Use the shop of your choice, not theirs. Ask me how I know :mad2: Their shop screwed up my car. In all fairness they made it almost right. Even though they claim they didn't do it, BS. I have minor paint issues that I have decided to live with rather than go through the hassle of going back there again. This was a well regarded company with 5 "assembly line" shops in the Syracuse area. Like Mr Man said I should have went back to to where I bought my DTR. They did a 1st rate job on it from a previous claim, even repainted an area two years later when the paint bubbled. My error for being a dumb a$$ :banghead:

Geico is a good ins company. They will pay to have it fixed wherever you want but, some parts they will use aftermarket or junkyard parts depending on the age of the car. Im not sure if you can fight that part. Also we had bodyshop order parts for a Marauder recently and we couldnt get them, some of the parts are damn near discontinued.

When I whacked the deer a couple years ago GEICO was not happy at all to find out that most of the parts were FORD/OEM only, no aftermarket. You are correct, this will get to become a problem in the future.

Your friendly neighborhood Geico office will defecate an entire antelope herd when they find out what the replacement Marauder rear bumper costs. I think their estimate might be on the low side.

Yep!
When I had mine repaired last year it was over $1,000 just for the rear valence.

Sorry to hear about your accident...it hurts me to look at those pictures of your wrecked Marauder...:(

BTW: I went to this shop and they did an excellent job. ACS in Reisterstown, Md. (Auto Collision Specialists)

http://acs-md.com/

They also insisted on all OEM parts and got the insurance company to agree to it.
Plus, they now have experience in repairing Marauder rearends!

Here is my wreck story if you care to read about it:
